I've finally tried my Drell on gold. I used to choose the Asari before because of stasis against Cerberus. But that was when I still played with friends many months ago. I took a very long break and only started playing again two weeks ago. Lost all my skills it seemed at first;P
I did the coward thing and went into a white/geth lobby. We camped and I set up explosions with area reave. We killed enemies so ****ing fast! Then we got killed during the object retrieval >.< Twice... third time worked just fine.
the next time I was brave and chose random map/enemy. First time I got thrown into wave 2 of white/geth (lol). They weren't camping but running around the map like on silver. I thought: ok, this is gonna be a disaster, haha. But it went very well. I didn't die much. Even saved us all in one wave. Full extraction.
Same team, ghost/geth. No camping either. I hate that map... I died a lot more because we didn't stay together, but full extraction again.
Yesterday I played dagger/reapers, got killed by a banshee twice (grabbed me from behind, didn't see it) and didn't survive the extraction because I died a few seconds before the time was up. Somebody else was lone survivor. But I contributed^^
Hydra/Cerberus was a nightmare... I saved one wave thanks to five cobras *g* Mission scrubbed in wave 7 I think.
Those were all my Drell gold matches so far.
I still run around with the Phalanx btw ;D
So shooting doesn't get me very far. My best pistol is a Carnifex III... but I prefer a 200% cooldown for spamming biotics. Might need to rely more on weapon damage for gold, though. I get in trouble easily if I don't have grenades left and nobody around to back me up.
Geth?
Reave gives you damage reduction when used on organics. Drells are the squishiest characters in the MP, and Geth don't give you damage reduction. The DA is awesome against Reapers and Collectors, IMHO. I don't pretend to mess with your build, but the way to go is health for full speed, Reave for damage reduction and Clusters for area, damage, shrapnel.
The Carnifex is alright in my book, you don't need 200% CD. 130 - 150 is ok with the DA. Use armor piercing mod and power amplifier/heavy barrel and give it a run
Let me know how it goes.
Edit: Grenade capacity gear is mandatory. Preferably use adrenaline modules too, non-stop running around the map is what will keep you alive and you'll be able to pick up grenades faster. Hit and run.

If only creative use of powers was more generally effective than killing everything in sight quickly is. Hence, missile speedruns and the like. Maybe next game?
Slightly off-topic, couldn't you Stasis things up to Thresher Maw size in the first Mass Effect? It'd be cool if Stasis and some other biotic powers had single target evolutions that allowed you to majorly slow or lock down things like Banshees in order to concentrate on the lesser enemies, even if you couldn't damage them for a bit.

yeah because it sooooooooooooooo helps you to kill those 2 collector captains so they can spawn behind your noob teammate and kill them during a hack/escort/1234 objective.... i'n reality it's most likely faster since the 8 enemies left after the objective is done, 2 of which will already be damaged and die faster at the end of the wave

It doesn't detonate anything, and only primes defenseless enemies where shooting is usually quicker and more effective at taking them down. Worse yet, it is one of the few powers in the game, if not the only one, that does absolutely nothing to armored or shielded/barriered enemies. Maybe it was a good ability in the beginning, but Power Creep came along and broke it's legs then handed it the cruth (Acolyte).
It's one of those abilities that many on this board would advise skipping for max efficiency. I wouldn't myself, but that should be all that needs to be said regarding this powers suckage.

Objectives are, what...3 out of 10 or 11 waves? If pull is only useful on those waves, it kinda sucks. I mean, singularity or bubble stasis would at least keep up to three enemies out of the picture in one cast, though you'd still have to get rid of their shields in the case of singularity.
But really, I get what you mean. I'm not saying that pull is useless, I use it all the time on my Justicar. Pull an abomination before it gets into the middle of your team? Heck yeah. Zip an enemy out of cover? Thanks, pull! But biotic powers in general could be more diverse than, 'Let's make explosions!' ...though those are a lot of fun.
