DragonRacer - Does it not work if you change the the voice chat output to they system output? - meaning that all gamesound/chatter will come through the speakers/headset.
(having a headset/mic auto changes it to voice coming through the headset/mic only - but you can switch it)
Settings/Acccessory Settings/Audio Device Settings/Switch output device to system default
I think it should then capture game sound and chatter - but not your own voice.. that needs some other trickery
That works with the Xbox, but not with the PS 3.
It has to do with the way Sony set up the HDMI, to prevent capture through that output. That leaves the only recording option as the A/V output, with separate stereo channels. Those channels (in my case, and from what I can gather, DR's as well) don't ever record the voice chatter. I have to splice into the audio line with my headset, which is before it is fed directly to the PVR, but the PVR doesn't record anything coming to my ears, or the TV volume (in the case of the PS 3.)
The setup for recording on Xbox is comparitively easy, and I can actually record my co-player's voices (frustratingly, not my own. I obviously love listening to myself talk.)
