Come my tortured soul to the land of not having pay twice to play your video games online:

Did my first run as a sentinel. Hydra/Cerberus/Bronze with the Avenger 1. Waited to open my packs. That was hilaribad. Felt like I was using a slingshot. I didn't go down too often, though.

My gift packs unlocked the Talon Merc and ugh the Eagle 1, and my starter pack gave me the Vindicator. I spent a good 2 minutes giggling at that last one.

Lol no

I'm totally into starting fresh in some games (sometimes I'll delete profiles to unlock achievements again), but those are games where it doesn't take me 500+ hours to max everything.

No way I'd ever re-start from scratch in ME3 MP.

I'd only bother starting over if you haven't tried PC yet. It's like the feeling of clarity when you put new glasses on.

I am sad that the restart didn't involve moving over to the PC Master Race.

But it does look kind of interesting, we have so much more knowledge now than we did a year ago.

That's crazy, I haven't even maxed my manifest after ~500 hours playing, and I really wouldn't want to spend another year trying to get back to where I am now.

It's quite fun. Really trim up your skill again as you get lax with all the good weapon and character-

I was thinking about a manifest wipe and only playing non dlc content since the game was more fun back then.
Closest thing to the demo I can get..

I was surprised how many people play non dlc content when i went over my friends house.
He has no dlc and I found games pretty quick.

Haha sounds like fun. I would be down for that if someone was to do it with me and if there was a way to delete everything but the DrellGod, Slayer, Fury, Cabal, Claymore, Raider and Javelin XD

THIS!  when you have to make do with 2 gels and 2 ops pack. Rushing to spawns is the last thing you do.

I learned to make every shot count. For the first time playing ME2 I got 20 headshot for a SR. A Valiant I.

And guess what my first UR unlock is.

Hey,

It's probably the 103-proof Fighting **** talking (I know that's censored, but it's actually a whiskey name, just saying), but if nobody has tried starting from scratch again, it's worth a try for laughs.

Jeremiah12LGeek from XBox made a PSN account from scratch. I had a secondary one that my husband mainly uses as a second online racing account, so I bogarted that for a new ME3 MP account. N7 1's from scratch with nothing. Not even our starter packs opened. Went into U/U/B with no medigel, no thermal clips, no rockets, and no ops packs. Level 1 starter common weapons with zero mods. No equipment. And 1 skill point to use.

It was a rebirth, it was raw... but it was hilarious and fun. If it's something you and at least one friend can do, it is TOTALLY worth it. I forgot how much fun it was to randomly unlock low-level things. After that first bare bones match, we agreed to open our starter packs and discovered you get the last two gift packs from BioWare, too... one guaranteeing an N7 promo weapon and one guaranteeing a Reckoning character (I also confirmed that new players have Quick Match already set to Unknown/Collectors/Platinum... Jesus Christ!).

We both unlocked Cabals after the first match and went to town on Silver after that. Both of us recorded video of the matches from each perspective, so those will be going up as soon as we can edit and upload them (maybe this thread can serve that purpose?).

But seriously, if you are looking for something fun and different to do, start over again if you can do a free account. It's hysterical to play the game with almost nothing but your knowledge. For example, totally unplanned, we'd both picked the human sentinel to start as N7 1. I specced into Warp, he specced into Throw, and we tried to stay together to cause BE's. Hilarity (and success) ensued.

Videos will be forthcoming after uploads...

Ah, I remember when I did this... Katana + Incendiary + Asguard was pure lulz... I should play with my dad's account and my sister's account for more Silver lulzies!! And use my noob account, again!
Too bad I'm rusty as hell, now... I can no longer play squishy characters due to leaving my skillz in the rain to rust, while I do other stuffs... Oh well, I can sand down those rust, once this semester ends!

What is the difference between PC and Xbox?

on xbox you have to both compensate for auto-aim and use motion prediction rather than pure aiming due to the functionality of the joystick. Really helped prepare me for the Javelin once I got it. Once you get used to aiming with a joystick it becomes almost as easy to hit things as on PC. if auto-aim didn't exist I could give you  a more definite judgement.

framerate: i did recently get on xbox and I noticed there is a very negligible reduction in enemy tracking, but for the most part avoiding the crosshairs and surviving.......... pc mustard race was just telling themselves what they wanted to hear.

situational awareness requires you not sprint for very long to move the camera around which, even at the highest setting (there are only three) still takes at least a full second to do a full turn-around. that's bad. if anything I'd say xbox is harder.

but platinum is still just as viable as on PC. only drawback are lower framerates when collectors are around.

Regarding disappointment in not converting to Master Race -- I'm so useless without a controller in my hands. Seriously. Old habits and all that... I did go through ME1 entirely on my laptop the first time I ever played that game. It was... very strange. Also very hard for my laptop to support graphics-wise.

Also, not a true starting over... just a fun experiment for kicks and giggles. I'm not sinking hundreds of hours into this new profile. Just a few one-off games for chuckles. Image IPB

Regarding lack of voice, yes, I do regret getting a game capture card that can't capture mic chatter, but not much I can do about that now. Image IPB

@ Stardusk, yes, 2 years left.

DragonRacer - Does it not work if you change the the voice chat output to the system output? - meaning that all gamesound/chatter will come through the speakers/headset.
(having a headset/mic auto changes it to voice coming through the headset/mic only - but you can switch it)

Settings/Acccessory Settings/Audio Device Settings/Switch output device to system default

I think it should then capture game sound and chatter - but not your own voice.. that needs some other trickery

That works with the Xbox, but not with the PS 3.

It has to do with the way Sony set up the HDMI, to prevent capture through that output. That leaves the only recording option as the A/V output, with separate stereo channels. Those channels (in my case, and from what I can gather, DR's as well) don't ever record the voice chatter. I have to splice into the audio line with my headset, which is before it is fed directly to the PVR, but the PVR doesn't record anything coming to my ears, or the TV volume (in the case of the PS 3.)

The setup for recording on Xbox is comparitively easy, and I can actually record my co-player's voices (frustratingly, not my own. I obviously love listening to myself talk.)

I have a bluetooth headset, which Elgato specifically says won't work at all. I mean, I guess I could mess with it to get the others' mic chatter recorded, but it seems a bit pointless to record half the mic chatter and not everyone. All or nothing, IMO.

I also am just not tech savvy at all. I literally had to watch three YouTube tutorials just to hook this thing up... and it has all of two wires.
