Has anyone read it yet?

Just got it in the mail....

I'm a little concerned...one of the cons/negatives was, "The main story was dissapointing"

However...a pro/positive was the side quests...

I really hope the main story grabs me in the same way the first game did....

Any comments?

Also...it stated you don't explore like before...you are instantly teleported to the location for the quest on the planet....

Not sure how I feel about that...

Well, the main storyline is a little weak if you're looking at the bigger picture. It's a suicide mission and you're preparing for it, that's it. The preparing part involves side quests and exploration, thus meaning the side quests need to be the core focus on the game's story as a whole.

I have a feeling the game's main story will be just fine, but nothing of ME1's standard.

Man....well here's to hoping ME3's story tops ME1...because that's what I was hopping for.

A lot of us believe that quote is misleading. We are expecting Bioware to reveal the new drivable vehicle next week.

I like how everyone is getting disappointed because ONE PERSON'S (ONE. JUST ONE PERSON) opinion is that the ending was a little dissapointing.

There was a UK PC magazine that said the ending was epic.

Chill out.

Ah....so was there a post about this?

Maybe on the old forums...

If so I apologize!

Hope there is a derivable vehicle...

Still pumped for the game!

I too suspect the ending will be epic, but that doesn't mean the main story isn't any better.

I'm not really dissapointed per se....let's say...concerned.

Just want to chat about it...not going to NOT buy it ;)

Glad you bring up the UK PC Mag(I'm from the states...wish i could read it though)

That brings a bit more faith...not that I lost too much...just wanted to bring it up.

I was thinking of doing that...pretending it's one big game...

Kinda like watching Star Wars back-to-back(The original trilogy of course).

To be honest, I'm not taking any of OXM's opinions on board here. Love the UK mag, but I find the US one isn't my cup of tea. They gave Bionic Commando 8/10, with the only real negative point being that it was too short. Don't get me wrong, I loved the multiplayer demo, and the swinging was really slick, but the campaign was pretty mediocre. So I take a lot of their reviews with a pinch of salt.

I've read a scan of a PCZone review (can't seem to find it right now), and it actually rated it lower (90%), but didn't mention anything about a weak story. In fact, I think the reviewer said that the last mission was truly one of the best they'd ever seen.

With ME1, Bioware created an epic main story, with some good emotional value. With Dragon Age, the main story was a bit less epic for me, but I preferred it because it managed to emotionally attach me to the other characters more than any RPG has ever done before. If I had to pick between the two, I'd go with all the rich consequences and emotional attachment with a really good sotry, as opposed to an utterly epic story and vanilla personal response.

I just want to know who or what will be the end boss, the collector leader? They said that it didn't even looked like it belonged in the galaxy. Is that a good or bad thing?

This was covered in another thread on the old ME2 forums. I believe that people said the actual review stated that the reason the reviewer(s) was/were disappointed was due to the fact that the sidequests for the companions were so strong and interesting (or something to that effect). They did not mean that the main quest itself was horrid if I'm not mistaken. Anyhow, I am so not searching for that bloody thread to link. Go look it up yourself on the old forums if it's still there. :P At any rate, ME2 seems to be getting 9s, 10s, 90s, etc., so I'm sure that all will be well.
