You aren't going to get that at E3. It is going to be a CGI trailer. Maybe more at the booth.

Hype, platforms/consoles and a vague release date are all we are going to get on the 10th. With an extra helping of hype.

Part of the reason I reailed in the Twitter thread that an E3 reveal would be extremely silly. They would have been better off with a PAX East reveal. We'll have to settle for one of the other cons this summer for a presentation on actual details of the game.

I don't know, I think a gameplay demo is looking increasingly likely.

We'll see. I'll keep my hopes quite firmly on the ground and assume nothing about the underlying systems/mechanics is going to be discussed at all. At best, I'll be surprised. At worst, I'll just be right.

I think the "messages" that EA/BioWare has been getting in regards to their TOR/DA2/ME3 debacles are all wrong, and will lead to further disasters.

From DA2 and ME3, I think the number one message they've taken away is that giving players choices, especially choices that span games, is more trouble than it is worth.  BioWare has backed away from the RPG label and from the choice label and is moving to focus on the story label.

From lead-ups to ME2 and DA2 I think they took away the wrong message that"revealing too much information in advance just leaves you open to create and solidify complaints.  Better to to not reveal anything of substance, use just more not-gameplay trailers, and focus on market-tested buzzwords instead of describing what the game will be like.

From the BSN, and the internet in general, I fully believe that they have taken to heart, wrongly, that they should ignore any complaints online and only pay attention to the critiques of their publishers, game testers, developers, etc.  Because the internet is full of people who just want to complain, right?

So I'm with Fast Jimmy here.  The reveal will likely be just a Blur trailer or some such, plus probably some excited talk about how great the graphics and sound of the game will be, and that there will be multi-player!

Anyone good with photoshop or general editing? I kinda want to change the "E3 title" by removing the "3" in it and change it into DA3's "III" logo.

So anyone? Would be very appreciated!

I just hope whatever they show and tell is substantial and not another tease. I'd like to be surprised and excited for DA3 but there are so many other interesting games and things like Oculus Rift going on that they're going to have to do something more than just a trailer or some teaser kind of thing to have me pay too much attention.

Especially considering the long wait from when they "announced" the game and now, I just want some details. The scope of which depends on the release date, I suppose, but still, if it seems apparent that the PR/marketing cycle for DA3 is going to be the typical AAA drip feed of constant teasers and facebook likes and so forth, I'll happily tune out. I am sick of that.

It will certainly be shown at the EA press conference. It's common sense.

I think the question is how much its actually "showcased." BioWare will certainly have something to show there, EA's lack of hype for it seems odd. EA is talking up Battlefield, FIFA, Madden, Need for Speed and so forth but they're being weird with how they're acting like Dragon Age 3 is some unannounced secret still.

So either EA is burying their heads in the sand and forgetting that the game was indeed announced last year (even if it they were basically forced to) or whatever DA3 shows at E3 isn't some massive content blowout but a more meager trailer/demo.

After all of the hype from Laidlaw and company on how they weren't going to show anything until they could melt people's faces off with the game in action and able to discuss lots and show, not tell, I'm frankly expecting a lot from them at E3. Yet recently, I'm getting the impression there might not be that much at E3.

I don't think they'll show that much. Laidlaw himself won't there. No demo ready to show or release. shrugs. I think they still have a lot of work to do.

I honestly... wouldn't mind a CGI trailer...

For any other type of game, you guys are right, a CGI trailer is pointless, but for an RPG, particularly an RPG focused on exploration (which the Devs are claiming DA3 is in part) I find a CGI trailer very helpful for introducing me to what sort of world it is I'll be exploring, without spoiling any of the areas I'm looking forward to exploring and discovering myself.

Me neither. I would love to see in which state the place is that we are going to be exploring. And what characters will be in the CGI, Maybe new ones, someone we know. But it would be nice if they gave us a little video with gameplay or atleast screenshots of how the character designs will look like with Frostbite 2 engine  I'm hoping that we aren't from Ferelden AGAIN.. But I don't know .. A Orleasian accent can grow old veeery quickly .. But not if she has the accent that Leliana had  And i want another Alistair! haha, I guess it's going to be revealed soon enough :kissing:

Something that sounds likely to me is that they'll do the usual marketing stuff with a CGI trailer, or a quick in-game trailer that doesn't tell us a whole lot about the game in the end. But then at the end of their talk they'll tell people to check out their website, and we'll have plenty of information and perhaps even more in-depth videos waiting for us there.

That way they can deliver on their promise to show off lots of stuff to wow us, without needing to take up tons of time at a large conference.

Sims 4 is probably going to be shown. Yay!

I'm still not too sure about multiplayer in DA:I. I remember a dev saying that DAO and DA2 both had the required social stuff -- that actual multiplayer was not necessary.

While that is incredibly non-committal, I'm going to stay hopeful until my heart is dashed against... I mean, until they say definitively that it's in there.

I'm just looking forward to any information besides the game's title. People may scoff at a CGI trailer but it still shows the protagonist, a basic outline of the story and some of the companions- which is much more than what we have at the moment.

If there is multiplayer in it, which I hope there isn't, then at least let us create our own characters, including choosing race (qunari female!)

I've already come to terms with the fact that Dargon Age: Inquisition will almost certainly have a multiplayer element in it.

If it bothers you just try not to dwell on it and focus on what matters: the single-player.

You forgot "if." "If" EA forces Bioware to put MP in.

...

And why would I do that? :P

DA games don't really lend themselves to the multiplayer angle. I think it would be a big mistake to put MP in a DA game. It might work fine in some other formerly single player games, but not DA.
