For my Neutral-Good(ish...)-male-human-noble-warrior Warden Commander, the ending that I think is best is:

Loghain, the redeemed, sacrifices himself.
Anora and Alistair rule together.
The Warden Commander sets out with Leliana (romanced) and Zevran (invited) in tow.


For my True-Neutral/-female-mage-arcane-warrior Warden Commander, the ending (I think) will be:

Loghain blasted into ashes at the landsmeet.
Alistair rules alone (her jealousy wouldn't allow a marriage to Anora).
The Warden Commander sets out with Zevran (... because, hey, that one-night stand was good times).


So anyway -- that's my canon.  I intend to use the same for the expansion.

I'm looking forward to seeing if my blood mage successfully tracks down Morrigan after she ran off with his baby. He couldn't be bothered with politics though so I'm not sure he even remembers who was on the throne.

But could someone tell me how you can let Loghain live yet still get those two to Marry? Alastair suddenly became (even more so) a crybaby once i mentioned i should let him join.



As for my endings, my favourite character (first playthrough) did the ritual, romanced Morrigan and made mostly good decisions, it is likely i'll follow on with him.



The one i am playing through currently just spared Loghain, lost Alastair, made Anora queen and i am unsure how i am going to handle the end, i am torn between letting Loghain sacrifice or maybe doing it with my character seeing as he's been a bastard (Reaver etc)

"Harden" Alistair.  After you take him to see his sister tell him something like "look out for yourself," then when you talk to him later, reenforce the "look out for yourself" philosophy.

My Human Noble Rogue female, Anora rules, Logain is dead, Alistair and PC run off too rebuild the wardens, Leli is harden and going to investigate the darkspawn, Zev is coming along in case I need my own assassin.

The phrase is "Everyone is out for themselves, you should learn that." I believe.



The "Good" ending is Hardened Alistar and Anora marry.

PLEASE MAKE IT CLEAR: how do you spare loghaine WITHOUT lousing Alistair. the reason i ask is because Alistair is my favorite videogame character ever. i want him to stay but i want both of us to live but i also want to destroy the archdemon, not pass it on to a "FREAKY DRAGON PUP!"-Alistair.

According to the Prima guide, if you spare Logain and make him a warden, you will lose Alistair. The only way to keep him is to kill Logain.

Alistair must be 'hardened' from his personal quest. "Look out for yourself" options in the dialogue. Try not to be in a relationship with him because it will be harder for you to convince him to marry Anora.

Ok I didn't read that part. I just looked up his character sheet.

From how the section on Alistair ruling alone on the same page reads, it looks like he will have to marry her for it to work.

its all right. i just wanted a perfect ending ready 4 the expansion. i can just do another playthrough, harden him, tell him to marry anora, set all that up, at the lands meet dont tell them to marry and see if it works.

I have only completed one play through and, as I do with all such games on my first run, I decided what kind of character and personality the hero had and then made all my decisions in the game in line with the character and personality I had established for her.



This led to her and Alistair falling in love, Alistair becoming king but then sacrificing himself to save her and kill the archdemon in the end. Loghain was executed at the end of the Landsmeet. My mage, who was very orthodox about the Circle, Blood Magic and the Chantry, refused Morrigan's bargain and told her to leave.



So I have a living Warden for the expansion but no Alistair.



I am just about to start a second run through, this time with a male human warrior. On this second run, then no doubt my knowledge of how things can turn out will influence my choices more. I have a feeling that the Warden and Alistair will both be alive at the end of this one. This will give me a slightly different save to import into the expansion later.
