I anxiously await the day when they're both used in the same sentence.  You know it's coming.

I see Auld Wulf has a new favorite phrase. 'Anti-intellectual binary thinkers' is no more, now it's 'demagogic circlejerk of hate'.

Doesn't make him any less of a selfish hypocrite.

Probably jealous of people who have a circle.

Prequel is an (almost) instant no buy for me. Both of the GOW's this year were prequels, and neither had a compleeling enough story or bring their respective franchises forward. That doesnt mean every prequel will be a waste, but from what ive seen, many prequels just simply arent as interesting

With the way that Mass Effect 3 is I don't see how there can be any future in Mass Effect.

Mass Effect 3 does end any possibility of any sequel.

Mass Effect 3 needs to be fixed before any talk of a fourth Mass Effect game.

Geez, between the Kai Leng hate, the Synthesis hate, the Geth hate, the Reaper hate, the Catalyst hate... it really is a demagogic circlejerk of hate.

Is this the part where you call me a Nazi or a Luddite for hating all those things myself?

Not that I don't love Garrus, but to me thats taking the franchise even further away from the original RPG model.

One of the things I love is creating a new character with a new face. If its just going to be Garrus then its just going to end up a 8 hour linear path driven action game no doubt.

.  Auld Wulf, I know you don't seem capable if understanding this, but some people, rightly so, do hate certain aspects of the game.  That doesn't make them hateful people or sociopaths, it means they have preferences.  Certain parts of the game are objectively bad.  Kai Leng for example, his presentation and execution is sub-par for any story.

@Cthulhu42, this is where he calls you a sociopathic anti-intellectual who wants to kill everything that doesn't fit into a narrow view.

Riddle me this: Why would a Kai Leng game be a bad thing?

1. Kai Leng is a villain. He is defined by his opposition to the heroic team.

2. Kai Leng is a vicious sociopath, with an escalating profile of cold-blooded violence and xenophobia from a young age. He was dishonorably discharged from the Alliance military for murder at 20 years of age.

3. Kai Leng is kind of a petty dick, with canonical instances of eating Anderson's cereal, just because he can, and urinating in a vase for the same reason. Also sends you spam e-mail to gloat about beating you.

None of these things say "base a game around the player taking on the role of this character" to me.

No. I won't buy a Garrus spin-off. I play Mass Effect for the SP RPG fully-customizable experience, not games that are obvious ploys for the fanbase of one character.

Walters said the spinoff could focus on Aria, TIM or Kai Leng.

Really? The character with the dullest DLC, the lamest character arc and the most retarded presence in a videogame ever, respectively? So basically he likes one dimensional anime characters. He keeps seeing stories in corners where there are none. Thanks for reinforcing what we already knew, Mac.

Hey maybe he can add in the term "communist" or "radical" and we'll have a party.

I'd buy a Tali spinoff, that goes through her time before Shepard picks her up (including the parts in the comic). Not just because I like her, but also because I believe there is some good story there. The comic sets a cool outline and does allow insertion of 'unwritten' parts. I believe that can be made into a good game.

I also think first contact war would make a good story, Anderson's story, Morning war and maybe Krogan rebelions/genophage release times.

Garrus spinoff would really be a police drama in MEU, wouldn't it?
Going with TIM or Leng IMHO is bad. It is not a good decision to take villains/characters with a known villanous future and make them good for the gameplay time.
Aria?? Why do people like her at all, is something beyond my understanding
Javik is a straight-out prequel, not a problem, but it seems so distant from current game MEU, that it feels almost irrelevant. Also Javik states that he was born into war and as a soldier he knows nothing else. Sounds bleak for a prequel.

A swordsman who regenerates shields in plain sight and is the only character in the whole universe that calls Shepard weak... No thank you

Kai Leng's only purpose in the game is being impaled by renegade interrupt. I don't think that following his journey from Alliance washout to cereal killer and finally pin cushion would make for a compelling character arc.

We have comics on Aria and TIM, we dont need a game on them. VA would also be different which would reduce their presence, they wouldnt be Carrie Ann Moss or Martin Sheen, can you imagine how much they would cost for the whole games lines as protagonists. Kai Leng doesnt work as a protagonist, unless you wanna be a xenophobic space ninja.

Only spinoff that might work was one with Garrus, but it would have to be really good.

My advice, go for the sequels and dont push your luck. Its time we get new characters and settings. ME universe has to go forward and evolve, not stay in the past and stagnate.

Well, the TIM game would probably be based on his younger days... so, Charlie Sheen it is.

Whatever happened to Emilio Estevez?

Just think of it on a realistic level if helps you sleep better. Not everything ends the way you wanted/hoped it to.

Now lets move on 300+ years, make it so that no matter your choice ending in ME3, somehow synthesis happened eventually and thus allowed man and machine to evolve into bigger and better things, as well as opening up new opportunities for evil villains from other far off planets to want to pick a fight with a new bunch of hero's.

just chop /cut out mass effect 3 out of the trilogy and have a new installment written by someone that actually knows how to structure a story, and pays attention to the narrative.
