Would you buy a next-gen console just for DA:I?-PS: No need to reply to say you're a PC gamer.

I'm a PC gamer.

I'm also a PS3 gamer, though I honestly don't play many games on it (racing, fighting and AC). However, I won't be getting one of the new ones for 1, maybe 3 years (if at all).. I don't like the direction the greedy bastards at the top are taking the gaming industry and it would just feel wrong to give them more money.

Also, what Nefla said.

-shrug- I wouldn't buy a new console just for this game, but it could certainly be a reason to get off the fence. There's many factors I'm still waiting to see, on if or when I will get a next gen console.

However, I really don't see them putting out a game that's been in development for so long only on next gen. It wouldn't make much sense from a business perspective. You want your game in as many hands as possible.

No.

But I'll be buying both for every other game that's actually exclusive the next gen hardware.

I'd never buy a console for just one game, but if you know there will be future games you want even if theres only one at launch, then sure why not?

That said, I am a PC gamer so it doesn't matter in regards to DA3.  But I'm still buying a console.  Not sure which one yet.  But no point tossing all my eggs in one basket, consoles are good for exclusives, non-pc multiplats and multi-media.  So yeah even if I only have one game on it for the first couple months it's not like it won't see much use since it will be my media hub.  I watch a lot of Netflix...

I've learned from past mistakes that buying a console just for one game is a silly, silly thing to do.

I'm a dirt poor student, so probably not. I'd have to wait - in agony - for the prices to go down.

Either that or sell a kidney or take up a second job as a stripper.

Maybe not just for DA3. I've played the last two DA games on my PC, and I'd like to play the third game on it as well, but my PC's a mid end gaming PC from two years ago, so I don't know if it will be able to handle DA3 too well, and since I'll be getting a PS4 anyway (don't know about a 720 yet) I might make the jump across.

Im getting a next gen console eventually. DAI just helps to motivate me to get it sooner rather then later.

 No.

I will buy a next gen console when more games come out, like the elder scrolls games. There needs to be a variety. For just one game though? Nope.

I plan on getting the next gen Xbox console because that's my main source of gaming, but even if I wasn't, I'm such a fan of DA that I'd probably get it just for that. I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem finding more entertaining games besides Dragon Age for Xbox 720, anyway.. at least not for me.

Although I game on PC a lot, more so now my new four month old desktop is very capable. To me it's happily not a question of missing out, I have a 360 (soon replaced by a new one because I didn't realize how okay I was once I figured out hand-eye controller coordination so my first one was second hand).

If I was, no. I mean Mass Effect 3 (before and after despite lore breaking cop-out endings), yes I would have simply because I love the series. The fourth game might end up being my first collector's edition pre-order because a sixth TES game is years and years away beyond 2015 probably. But I'm not quite as enamored by Dragon Age, except in the civil rights struggle between the Mages and Templars. Inquisitions is worth a single platform purchase, and you forget country price differences, as an Australian gamer my preorder will be 80 (pc)-105 (360 at moment) dollars. I'm sure next-gen games will be extremely pricey at the start of their release cycle.

I usually wait a couple of years into the consoles cycle so that the price of it and it's launch games have gone down, and I can tell if there's any issues - like Xbox's RROD or Wii U's having barely any games. There is no way I'd consider changing this just for DA:I, especially since I'm now waiting to read reviews before buying BioWare games

Not gonna lie, I would be tempted. However, I typically like to wait a few months to see if there are any problems with the consoles, and than wait for the companies to iron out any of the problems. I remember when all my friends went out on launch day to get the shiny new 360, and half of them got the red ring of death after only a few days.

Probably, considering I bought a PC gaming laptop just for SWToR. I had always used my Mini Mac for WoW and SWToR was only coming out for PC, obviously, though, I can use the laptop for much more.

The bigger problem in my household is how many. Right now we have 3 limited edition XBox 360's, which have served well on most occasions, GoW and Halo i.e., however, with Dead Island we needed to borrow another XBox 360 along of course with 4 copies of the game itself. I mention this because if the XBox is not backwards compatible as the PS4 is being already confirmed as such, (currently we have 2 PS3's) then, I don't know. How many before one says enough is enough?

Wow, you forgot to add:

Sure, why not? ^_^

I bought a 360 just so I could play Oblivion, so I would certainly buy next-gen to play DA:I if it is necessary.

The only thing I don't know (at this point) is which console I would purchase. There just isn't enough info about PS4 or the Nextbox for me to make any kind of informed decision yet.

Nothing beats playing online on the PS3 for free. I'm sure it'll be the same for the PS4.

Here too, man. Except for the stripper. My sister gifted me my PS3 on 2010, so for a PS4, I'll wait until..2018..or until I find a job that doesn't suck(or one at all).

This question is as relevant for PC gamers as it is for console gamers.

I've bought a whole new PC just to play some new game that I didn't think would run adequately (or at all) on my old PC.

I would have bought a new PC to play DAO if I hadn't happened to have just bought one for some other game right around the same time. But I don't think I would buy a new PC to play DA3. Instead, if I didn't think my PC could run it adequately, I'd just wait until I'd acquired a new one for some other reason and try DA3 then.

Sony has announced a couple of games for the PS4 that i want, adding more games to the PS4's upcoming library will only make me buy a PS4 sooner. Might wait a month after release before buying a PS4 though.

Nope, I have no intention on buying a PS4 anytime soon. If DA:I comes out on only the next generation consoles then I won't be getting it.

I'm not a PC gamer, I have a gaming PC, PS3, Xbox360 and a Wii so I'll play it on whichever plateform I damn well pleases. That said, I'm not planning on buying a next generation console any time soon considering they're basically just low-priced gaming PC so I'm not sure how much exclusive titles they'll get from 3rd party developers.
