Okay, so I've entered the carta, I killed all the enimes on a direct route to Jarvia, I killed Jarvia and everyone else in the room with her. I exited the carta, via the mertchant's shop, and then went back to Lord Harroment. He didn't recognise the quest as complete. I went back and took the same route again, carefully checking bodies in Jarvia's room for any quest items I may have overlooked. Returned to Harroment, Nothing. Finially, I went through the whole carta, and killed every single enemy there. Returned to Harrowment, nothing. This isn't even a side quest so I can't progress with the game until it is done, and weather I am overlooking some key quest detail, or this is some kind of bug is beyond me.... Anyone know what's wrong?

That's everything you're supposed to need. Try reloading from a previous save, that's all I can think of that might help.

Did you skip massacring some carta members? Also, have you started anything with Bhelen? Also did you start 'Betrayed from Within' or 'Incriminating Evidence'?

You might want to review the wiki entry.

Massacring some carta members? You have to do that before you can even get into the hideout, and no, I haven't done anything for Bhelen, I've chosen to work for Harrowmont. And I didn't start either of those quests because I don't intend to double cross Harrowmont.

This happened to me once. I had to reload a previous save and up to that point I only ever saved before I started an area, so I had to load from outside the gates and do everything all over again :(. But I think what happened with me was I left the room (through the door that lead to the store), before the game updated the quest. its a laggy area, for me anyway, so it takes a while. to update anything in orzammar.
Every game since I wait in the room til I actually see it update, it could take a while, and not had a problem since.

You can reroll. Though I'd save that for until you've google searched the problem, and upgraded to the latest patch if you're not already using it.

I assume you are playing on the xbox? If you are not and are playing on the PC, then you might try enabling the developer console and playing around with that for a work around (see dragon age wiki for details).

I'm running PC but the developer console activiation methods only work on Dragon age origins, but I have the ultimate edition (Different files) so I can't find out how...
What's a reroll then? I'm running latest patch and I've been trying to find a solution for a few days now... Really don't wanna have to start the game again...

I have the ultimate edition as well and use the developer's console.

If you have it through Steam

Nope. The Instructions tell you to go to /Bioware/DragonAge/Settings/Keybindins.ini

Ultimate edition has no 'Settings' folder...

A re-roll is a tabletop RPG euphemism for "make a new character."

Not sure if this will help, but there's a mod you can use to make console commands visible. At present I haven't used console commands ever in DAO, so I also haven't tried it to see how well it works, but...

Well I've tried the console, tried a few different mods, and none of it worked, so I'm just gonna start over. Thanks to all for trying to help :)
