The little boy...what could have been if shepard could have saved the kid and brought him onboard. The kid could have played more of a role in the story. His interactions with the squad could have been interesting. We could learn his backstory...bond throughout the game and in the end possibly formally adopt the kid with our love interest.

Could also form a major twist centering around the boy that leads up to the reveal of star kid.

The kid would probably have been sent to some shelter on the citadel after leaving mars. And the kid turns out to be a reaper the whole time.

Sounds gimmicky, but so did the Crucible. Would probably present better buildup than there was in the actual game. Of course, I'm not sure being a few degrees better than terrible amounts to good.

Yeah, bring him to the Citadel! Brilliant idea! You can check on him through act 2, then he suddenly vanishes, last seen crawling in some duct. Ah, now it all makes sense to see the kid in the end. And remove those stupid nightmares in exchange for that. Perfect.

That would be neat, I guess. There weren't any other children on the Normady other than edi and joker- oh wait.

I'm all for saving lives, but I'd never support bringing the kid onto the Normandy.  It's a warship not a playground.

Yeah but you could let James play with him.

I imagine that the Catalyst would have chosen a different appearance if the kid had been saved. Perhaps the squadmate left on Virmire.

The kid might have turned out like Boxey from Battlestar Galactica. And if there was a nod to the original series, maybe he would wind up with a pet daggit. Or varren, I suppose.
