This is my first post
I m doing my final allegiance quests in the dwarven mines
I took Shale as a friend said I would need him to get through doors by throwing rocks
He is level 14
He has the rock throwing and rock barrage but they are greyed out
Beside the rock throwing it shows 0
How do I get the rocks so he can throw them.  I m in a rocky place but he does not get any

Well first many are about to tell you too register your game and go to the gameplay forums. It is where these discussions are ent to take place.

You do not need shale to make it thru the deep roads (that is where I assume you are reffering to with dwarf mines) but it is a good idea to bring shale along.

The rock throw thing is used in the fade mage tower sequence.

Think of Shale as having 4 modes, one for each of his talent lines. The first talent in each line is a sustained ability that in general needs to be active for any other talents in that line to be used. So for the Hurl and Rock Barrage abilities to be used, Rock Mastery needs to be turned on.



Shale won't open any doors by throwing rocks though, that's a different golem in a different part of the game. (Any more can't be said in the non-spoiler section.)

2) You don't need Shale to throw rocks through doors in the game. Ever. Punch your friend in the face.

3) All of Shales special attacks are tied to different stances, switch her to Rock Mastery in order to be able to throw rocks.
