So, from Dragon Age Origins to Dragon Age 3, we've had a little over a decade of time pass by.

Since the days of Ostagar and the Fifth Blight, a lot has changed. Events have transpired and they've left their mark on the people we've come to recognize as our companions, our brothers and sisters in arms.

My questions to you all are these-

How do you wish some particular squadmates/companions change going into DA3? Are there some that you think have progressed/regressed, any you are unhappy or happy with the result of, any particulars you'd like to see in some fashion?

I ask this because I was just thinking about how drunkard Alistair might have cleaned himself up since we last saw him. Or perhaps he's remained the same and Teagan couldn't really help him.

I feel like everyone will look the exact same (despite being aged 10 years), will be in the same situation, regardless of any previous decision or choice and will wind up being a rather flat cliche of their former selves... like Zevran ready to hop into a threesome and Allistair saying "swooping is bad" for no reason whatsoever.

Part of me would be happy if we didn't see any of our previous companions at all in DA3. A very big part of me, in fact.

Somehow I knew you'd be the first to chime in, hahaha.

Not so sure on them looking the same. New engine, after all.

Drunkard Alistair was the only cameo I really liked in DA2 because it showed a good piece of character development based on our past choices. The other characters' involvements were token and pointless. I'd rather leave what my former companions have done for the past ten years to my imagination.

an idea i always thought would be interesting is if Leliana returned in a save where she was unhardened, in love with the Warden, and the Warden did the US - because iirc, it was implied she killed herself in the epilogue. Perhaps if that was the case she'd be slowly heading towards that point.

giggly Leliana would be replaced by serious, depressing Leliana or something.

Well, I know we won't be seeing Wynne again.

That seems like way too many specifications to be integrated. Plus, Leliana seems to be really important right now.

Even then, DA:O had said he was in Starkhaven (I believe?) instead of Kirkwall. Epilogue slides being unreliable notwithstanding... they even managed to retcon that guy. Huzzah!

wouldn't really need more than a few dialogue changes.

while Leliana does seem uber important now (which i still don't like but thats another matter...) somehow i doubt she's going to have a whole lot of screen time all the same.

And if Leliana was in love with the Warden and they lived? Would she then be giggling and bubbly? That's not exactly a few different lines. That's a whole different tone of the character's voice over.

Though I agree - I doubt she will get any large amount of screen time.

Just to play devil's advocate I'll say that she'll be significant and show up more than y'all believe she will, even if I really don't know whether or not she will.

Actually... I'd love it if Leliana was one of the antagonists. Trying to do the work of the Maker, it turns out her visions and inspiration from the Maker have all been a demon trying to rip a whole in the world to devour the living alive! Mwuahahahaaaa!!!

The intro of DA3 will be every former companion having a family gathering and then being crushed by an asteroid so they don't have to take into account all the relationship/things they might have done.

You can then make a sword out of that asteroid. Perhaps name it after one of them.

The OGB will be amongst the magic asteroid crash. And the Warden and Hawke. And the asteroid will be made out of Element Zero.

I'm not even supposed to be on the BSN right now. I blame all typos and picture posting on that fact.

The Inquisitor walks into a room, Alistair shows up and explains he's a Grey Warden who traveled with the Hero of Ferelden and met with the Champion of Kirkwall and how they were both fantastic, he loudly proclaims "SWOOPING IS BAD" and leaves doing airplane noises.

If you're married with him, he says the Hero of Ferelden is a fantastic wife and wink at the screen to make the player feel as if their choice truly matters.
