I know there's bound to be a thread for this previously, but I'm at work so didn't want to go hunting it down or necro posting :P

I for one give my multiplayer characters proper names and interested to see who else does?

I named my Justicar Bastla (in homage to Bastila) while I have Android the Geth Trooper, Zero the Juggernaut, Reela the Cabal and Aura my Asari Adept.

What did you name your characters?

Most of them are references to random stuff. Some of them have proper names and some don't.

I have Ambrose the Drell Adept, Eirika the Human Soldier(named after the Fire Emblem character), Harken the N7 Paladin, etc.

Then I also have things like Worgendorf the Kroguard, and Onoronodonovon the Collector Adept.

and my Novaguard has the name Cyonan, while the Quarian Marksman has my real name(and the AIU named after my ex-gf).

I name all my male characters Leo, and i name all my female ones after my girlfriend.

I'm not very creative.

All names must fit lore when I choose.

I usually just take character names from the game (my imagination really sucks when it comes to names).

Though i did give the QME my real name, and i really love playing with myself.

Proper? Sorta...

Mapleshield is my Canadian Paladin. (I'm Canadian...)
O.F.F. is my Puggernaut. (He's all black, no lights)
Gnarly the V. Snarly the V. and Harley the V. are my vorchas.
iTrooper is my geth trooper.
iGeth, gethgineer.
Sassari, Assari, and Sassyrie are my asari.
God, is my volus adept.
Sleeper is my Awaken Collector Adept. (kek)
High Heels is my shadow. (Really? She's wearing heels for sneaking...)
Cheeseball is my volus Vangod.
Alpha for Ex-cerberus adept/vg. (He looks suspiciously like Alpha from Red vs Blue.)
yeah...

I tried to. I stole a few from the Single Player though. Wing commander Artimec just sounded like an awesome Turian Soldier name.

Anyway, the humans were easy. They got last names only, like Lt. Rhodes or Jackson or something. Turians and Quarians even got last names, and the Geth were given l33t names, because that seemed so much better than "Geth" or platform #. I wasn't sure wtf to name the Collector Adept, so I just called him Reaver. N7 Humans and Ex-Cerberus kits seemed like true operatives, so they got codenames related to what they do (Archer, Athena, Kestrel, etc.).

Everyone else? Didn't care enough to try anything other than ripping 'em straight outta SP's codex. I really like Cir Tevos and Tela Vasir, though.

Ex girlfriends make up my kits.

The most dangerous, the most feminine, the most perfect, is the N7 Shadow. I miss her dearly, but I have a stupid life and a really deficient brain.

My first time, I gave them names--tried to name them something related to the game, lore or something that sounded appropriate for the race. However, back then, promoting would reset the name, so I started using absurd names like Slim (for my first Volus) or Tiny for a Krogan.

Now that names do not reset upon promotion, I try to name them after mythological deities and, if possible, somehow related to their profession or some element of their powers (so, Thor for the Krogan Warlord, Agni for the Vorcha Soldier, etc.).

Roommate made an undead rogue in WoW with every button bound to backstab and named her the same as his ex-gf. (Turned down a marriage proposal. Ouch)

Depends, I kinda stopped bothering since no one else can see the names anyway but I do put stuff there.

I name all of my asari after greek goddesses, athena, artemis, etc etc.

My Geth tend to get the names of computer errors. Critical Fault, so forth and so on

  N7 shadow is named Silhouette

  Kroguard- Siegebreaker

  AIU - ******

  N7 Demolisher - Livewire

just off the top of my head, I'd have to actually log in to remember what I called the rest.

Mine are mostly abbreviations of whatever the character is, or that plus random characters. Examples: TurSold for Turian Soldier, and KroSent for the original Krogan Sentinel. Some are just letters, like HFB for Human Female Biotic, and others are just one word descriptions like "Lashy" for the ex-Cerb Vanguard.

WTF does it matter what the names are?

It doesn't, he's just curious to see whether any of us care about the RPG elements of the MP.

Calm down.

Your username is pretty godd*mn ironic considering the criticism you're offering me.

Just about all my characters have names. The Cerberus Vanguard, however, has the most interesting back story.Lets just say he carries the Acolyte after falling in love with a Asari Huntress.

Biotic explosions have a way of bringing couples together.

Except for my Drell Vanguard, whom he is named RARW, for his fierce OPness.

I gave all of mine names. Some are random, others are from SP, and some are just nonsense.

All my characters have dead serious names..... Such as 'BaggyPants' or 'FlightOfThe' :)

One point to anyone who can guess what kit has the latter name.
