Regardless of what level of difficulty you play as, or anything else. The game is a lot more exciting, when most of your team is down. When you have to solo a couple of waves or complete an objective alone, knowing it's upto you, and people are watching. Pugging is great for adding stress to the game, and making what seemed like a simple objective truely difficult.
We love carrying pugs, because it gives the game more flavour, without which, it would become a standard, gear up, start, and 20mins later, extract. Where would be the challenge?

Here's to pugs! I say, sometimes, let that N780 into your Gold lobby, and let him/her taste victory.

I like carrying PUGs who play to the best of their ability, but still are not very good. I HATE carrying ****s who try to rambo everything and bleed out instantly and never help with objectives.

My N7 level is low because I only promote when I want to change my build.

Still, I only play with pugs, and the majority of the time I come out of the match on top of the leaderboards, with a lot of gold medals. Still, I couldn't do it without those silly rascals; Who else is gonna be my meatshield?

I see what you mean, but I don't perform well under this kind of stress. When I feel everyone's eyes on me while I'm clutching a wave, I start to make stupid mistakes :D

I know how you feel. Sometimes, I'm able to stay calm and be an effing badass, whistling "Here she comes to save the day!!" all the while... Sometimes, though, my heart just races and my vision goes blurry. Next thing I know, I'm walking into the embrace of an atlas and two phantoms (or other such "Oh crap, you're effed" situations) with no chance of running away.

Doing solo matches has helped immensely, though, and it takes away the pressure of having others watch you so you can learn how to clutch a wave (or many) on your own.

Eh no one is watching because on PC, most have alt-tabbed and are surfing the internet.

Having a game turn into a glorified solo is not enjoyable for me because i do not like being a donkey for 3 players who want easy credits and never have medigel. You can't even blame it on newbieness because these peeps are n400 to n1000+.

There's a sense of accomplishment and motivation, sure.

There is sometimes a sense of concern when you realize that things might not be going well if you're needing to solo wave 2.

No. I get very tired of it.

Especially if they spend EVERY wave on the floor, never use gels, don't have ops packs, poor equipment, don't rocket, use a Geth flamer trooper and still fail horribly, screw up spawns, pick up the pizza and die in the worst place with it.

If they can at least stay alive for a few waves and not drop dead every few seconds, they'd be an effective meatshield, but some can't even do that.

Bad pugs are fun when they are there on a team with you for comedic value, pug lottery. That's about it.

Couldn't have said it better. If the PUGs are making an effort then by all means. Otherwise they make the game feel like a chore instead of a hobby.

I'll admit, I was flattered when I had to carry the team and the next game one of them started using my build.

You are wrong, it is nice to carry a group if all are equal and you are the last one standing and saving the match.. Then yes, I am 100% with you, it is satisfaction.

If I get into a match where in round 2 the voice in my head says "This group of people is bad news"... And at the end of round 3 or 6 I am doing the objective alone and everybody is dead... No I don't find pleasure in that.

not really, when I know I have to carry a bad pug match the fun factor is gone.

No, I don't like carrying teams on Gold. It's stressful as heck. I've had to do it 2-3 times already and top scoring with 100k-120k is called 'dragging' rather than 'carrying'.

hahaha man this line is so true... a few days ago, pizza delivery on Firebase Giant, playing against the Geth... a guy picks the pizza up... and I scream in the mic "Don't go through the open center, go outside and up the ladder!."  ... He walks right out in the center and I told him "Thank you for being an a**hole, you just killed all of us... " ... And we did... one big happy Geth Prime party. Just had to point and shoot.

It's situational for me.

If the PUGs are trying their best, using consumables, helping with objectives, or trying to stick near me to help/learn, but are just having a bad game, or are in a little over their heads, or look like Silver players trying to transition into Gold, then I do absolutely love carrying them and getting to look like, as Zaeed would say, "a big goddamn hero".

If, however, the PUGs never use even ONE stinkin' medigel or rocket to help the cause, blatantly ignore objectives and leave me to do them alone, or scatter to the four winds and promptly die every wave, then I do not enjoy carrying. At that point, I am soloing and trying to end the game as soon as possible (while still getting credits) so I can bail out of that lobby ASAP post-match.

I dont love to carry PUGs (though I can on occasion). Generally when I see some very low N7 dude with an Avenger II I end up staying around a bit to pull them through a few matches so they can level their stuff. Other than that I only carry on certain waves when people decide to take naps on the floor. Whole matches are not my thing.

I've grown to more and more enjoy clutching. I'm not a great player, but once a couple teammates bleed out, the adrenaline picks up and I focus more on what I'm doing, play less recklessly, and generally put in some of my best performances. I'm too careless unless there's some pressure on.

I think I'm less judgmental than some of you. If I see a lobby that looks like a disaster (based on kit levels, weapons, equipment, consumables), I'll just leave. But if I'm in, I'm happy to carry (to the extent I can) regardless of what anyone else in the match does. If someone wants to bleed out all the time, I think it's sufficient punishment that they have to sit and watch me play for half an hour. The world is full of idiots, I'm not going to waste any time fretting over them.

The best ones are on the escort missions, where they break off and missile a spawn behind you, forcing it to drop directly ahead.

I always think "You utter bastard"

Clutching a difficult wave when everyone else has gone down can be a pretty intense and exciting experience.

Doing the same for most of a match is just irritating.
