I must say, I like when I have carried a PUG and one of them sends me a message afterwards thanking me for dragging them to full extract. I can't say I was very keen on it while I was doing it but part of me likes strutting my sexy in front of a live audience. (Im on Xbox. No tabbing.)

And then you get kicked from lolsilver...

Almost all games I play are PUG and it's kind of a hit or miss thing. I think I end up in crappy games as much as good games. It's a real relief when you end up in a good team. The other day I was in a team where the three of 'em died within the first minute of the wave and when I had to solo the third wave in a row I gave up and let the mission fail. But then I also ended up in a match with actual teamwork than breezed through the match so fast I had to double check I wasn't on Silver.

The worst games however aren't the ones where all the other guys are crappy players and keep dying. The worst games for me is when there's one dude who has a 50k+ challenge score and solos the freaking game with 280k points. You end up feeling like you are sitting on your ass the whole time no matter how much you try to kill things, and it sucks. If you play like that and you're on Gold? Go play some damn Platinum and leave us average Golders to our fun, k? Co-op is why I love ME3. Jerks who play PUGs like it's a solo and they're doing the rest of the team some sort of favor is my #2 annoyance, right behind ini hackers.

Look at it this way, some of us really aren't that good and thus kind of "need" a leader.

BSN standards of "competent" in multiplayer are about as grossly inflated as my ideas of the term in-universe to be honest. NPCs and their low hidden stats and poor tactics and stuff. Ah, if only I could rub in Garrus' nose that civilian militia can outsnipe him (by a lot, I might add)... Just like BSN. Solo Platinum? "Ah you used the Reegar lol doesn't count"

But I digress. I personally don't enjoy a carry. Clutching, sure. Everyone has bad luck, myself included. But if I'm carrying, it's just a solo without spawn control, and that's stupid.

But then we have to score 300k+ and that isn't nearly as fun. Gold is the perfect balance for a lot of people to have fun, sorry you can't keep up.

pugs are awful today...just played a U/U/P game and landed on Hydra/Collectors.

Had 240,000 points at wave 10...mission failed. waste

haha, I've had that happen. Platinum is a little more difficult. but it's funny listening to some of them get excited in later waves as an extraction seems more and more likely to them.

I know. The irony is too demoralizing to speak of... Image IPB But since we are speaking of it, Silver hates Sexy. Where being good isn't good... Haters.

It's situational for me.

If the PUGs are trying their best, using consumables, helping with objectives, or trying to stick near me to help/learn, but are just having a bad game, or are in a little over their heads, or look like Silver players trying to transition into Gold, then I do absolutely love carrying them and getting to look like, as Zaeed would say, "a big goddamn hero".

If, however, the PUGs never use even ONE stinkin' medigel or rocket to help the cause, blatantly ignore objectives and leave me to do them alone, or scatter to the four winds and promptly die every wave, then I do not enjoy carrying. At that point, I am soloing and trying to end the game as soon as possible (while still getting credits) so I can bail out of that lobby ASAP post-match.

You forgot the 'and I'm not goning to waste any of my consumables for them'

So long as you're trying I enjoy it when I can see people start following me around. Happens on my paladin all the time.

***

The only time I don't like carrying pugs that are trying is in a platinum where they obviously are undergeared for it. I choose my PC platinum lobbies pretty carefully now though, and if you don't have consumables on in a U/U/P you get the Kick. I'm also finding PC platinum lobbies kicking leechers pretty consistently nowadays.

If I'm in a good mood or the randoms are at least trying then I quite enjoy carrying a match. If not, I'd rather just solo.

I admit, when I got the 15 revives medal last night, I was happy. I don't love it; if I never had friends to play with, that'd blow. It's just fun from time to time.

I do like having to clutch occasionally ... it's a good rush ... plus on console there is no alt/tab ... so they are forced to watch (probably) ... with competent teammates, this almost never happens ... so I do try to enjoy when the opportunity arises

It is fun. Swarlos and I had quite the adventure last night. We had two low level N7's in our Gold lobby last night. One was 20 something and the other 30 something. Swarlos was a Volus VanGOD, and I was the Havoc. We ended up with Collectors on Dagger, and predictibly the two randoms were bleeding out wave after wave. Was not really a big deal for Swarlos and I, but on wave 10, one of the randoms disconnected and immediately sent us a message in a panicked tone saying he was sorry he left. Swarlos, and I were laughing hysterically, because he literally did nothing the whole match. PUGs be so funny. :D

Depends on PuG.

Good connection/Equipment on/Consumable use/No Rambo: Sure. I will try to carry you.

Bad connection/Single Host starter/No equipment/No consumable use/Rambo: Whatever.

When I was desperate for credits. I still carry as much as possible within my ability.
Now... I just don`t care.

Last night.. I dropped in a game where there is a single host in wave 1.
My character suffered sound glitch, no stability bonus glitchy + lag.
After wave 6 I really didin`t give a **** and got sync-killed by Banshee on half purposefully... and the team got effectively wiped. I was happy to save time because that game would`ve been painful with all those glitchy for me.

Everything considered,
if PuG join a game I am hosting. I will be doing my best to finish the game no matter what.

I admit I do love it when good teammates go down and I have to clench a wave. Clenching wave after wave with randoms lost it's luster a lonnnnnggggg time ago. I still do love seeing the crap randoms do, say, and their loadouts though.

Oh, my! Image IPB

Is it getting hot in here or is it just me?
Probably just me. I do have a terribly dirty mind. Utterly incorrigible. Image IPB

I love PuGing when it goes well. That can involve me carrying, but it usually doesn't.

I need to PuG sometimes, though. I don't take naturally to playing the game aggressively, so I need to have opportunities to switch up the load, and flex my old support style, while still having my fair share of enemies to kill.

This.

Last night it took me almost 47 mins to complete a Gold solo! Oh did I mention I had a full squad...

They were so pathetic and selfish I made my view of them very clear over the mic after the game. Probably in my top 3 worst pugs of all time.
