Gold is pretty easy actually with most kits to solo. Giant is the LOL setup for soloing, Hazard Giant for nade kits.

Reactor is good too because of open sniping lanes. Glacier if you prefer close quarter fighting. Really fun with the Fury and her BE goodness

I can only solo on Giant with Kroguard/lolreegar. Haven't tried Gold yet, don't know if I ever will.

Personally, I hate Condor. Enemies have a line of sight from all over if you get the 4 devices objective, and I always have when attempting solos.

I like Hazard Reactor. You can occasionally kill enemies with the reactor, but you can usually block them off from one side by closing it, so it sometimes makes it easier to get certain objectives after some kiting. It's also a level with a lot of soft cover, and most areas have multiple escape routes if you get surrounded.

Giant and Vancouver are probably the 2 easiest maps to solo on. Big maps are good...

It kind of depends on your play style. Do you do best at close range or long? To finish challenges, I've done a lot of soloing (reminds me of my teenage love life) and you can solo gold with most kits if you are patient. For your first time I'd recommend Krogan Vanguard, good shotgun, cyclonic IV, Geth, and a large map (Giant, Rio, etc). Good luck.

Giant just offers the perfect amount of cover and size while you run around in circles kiting enemies away from objectives.

Giant and Glacier. But mostly Giant. Lots of good escape routes if you get overrun, and relatively easy to funnel the enemies from their spawn points.

I like giant for my solo's......... Then again, Giant is my fave map so I go to it a lot lol
