Human noble: Nada. (I forgot about the treasury though so I don't know what's in there)
Dwarf Noble: You can ask for 3.50 Gold from that shaperate guy
Mage: Nothing
City Elf: 40 gold, but very late in game when you get it.

The Human Noble treasure consists of nothing but the family weapon and shield, plus some minor items of convenience. Selling them all would yield less than a sovereign.

Well, it's trivial, and part of a bug, but you lose everything except for your money as a Noble, including the Blood Dragon Armor you start out with. Selling it gives you a modest amount for just starting out, and like you said, there's more gold to be had from this origin.

I have never lost any thing now i am on a 360 but everything gets put into the chest in your room. I still have managed to get to ostagar with everything i had before

I don't recall seeing any room before I went to Ostagar. As soon as I got framed I got kicked out to the Deeproads to fend for myself, practically naked except for stuff I loot off dead people. Is this a variation in story choice?

Caozen was referring to the Dwarf Noble. The PC in that origin loses all equipment, but keeps money. But this is still the best pick for money in the game. If you handle things right, you can sell a letter of credit for 25 gold at the start, plus Gorim is a merchant at Denerim that buys at twice the price of all the other merchants in the game. (He buys at 50% of value if you play the Dwarf Noble, otherwise all merchants pay 25%.)Giles_Warrior_Champion wrote...

Edit: If you're on the PC and using the latest patch, you get to keep the special DLC equipment though everything else (except the money) is still stripped from you.

Dwarf Noble starts out and ends with the most gold in the game, by far.13eelzebub wrote...
So far I have tried Human Noble, Mage, Dwarf and City Elf... not sure what the Dalish/Dwarf Commoner offers

When Lord Dace asks for you to speak for him about the surface dwellers, demand a reward from him and follow what he does. He will basically give you an IOU. Since you can't keep it with you, you can instead sell it to a merchant outside for 25 gold. You also need to make sure to sell all extra items you don't need before talking to Trian in his room because it'll get taken away from you as well. With this and the scribe bribe, you end the Origin story with around ~28 gold.
Dwarf Noble also gets a huge discount and sales advantage with Gorim in the Denerim Market District as well. Always sell your equipment to him whenever you can.

On xbox Dwarf noble does not lose DLC items. The dwarf commoner on the other hand does (not in the chest, every non DLC item, yes, DLC items, no).
On the contrary, I found it was quite the opposite.

heh! The Dwarven Noble can sell that Golem DLC mace to Gorim soon after Lothering, and gain enough starting gold (ca.800 gp) to gain a few items usually seen at end game.
679 gold and 10 silver to be exact.
Might as well be 800 gold though, you can buy whatever you want. How much for Denerim?
Where Gorim got that much cash, I'll never know. Guess he robbed the royal palace before he was kicked out of Orzammar

Also a Mage with stealing and coercion is a good start too about 3.5-4 gold, Dont forget to take Jowan and lily's gear off.

Gorim seems to have married a wealthy woman. Not sure on the total amt he gives, but it is worth the reunion coming to Denerim a little early.
