I seriously considered going back and reliving the ME experiance (havent played any of the games since September) recently in light of the recent Citadel DLC. But then I quickly remembered that horribly contrived abomination known as ME 3 ending. Then I started thinking "why the hell should I care about ME, its characters, planetary background, moral choices, lore and themes when Bioware clearly doesn't?" Then I decided to go on to other games. Granted I might do a nostalgic run of both ME 1 and 2 in the near future but my overall interest in the trilogy and all posible future games is permeantly done at this point.

Anybody else feel the exact sameway??

The biggest problem for me with Mass Effect 3 had nothing to do with the endings at all. But rather the technical problems the game had right at launch that marred my 'first impression'. Most were fixed, but some were just because of bad programming.

Face Import bug
Map Scanning bug (pc only)
Camera jumps/Characters not visible (Aftermath of shooting Udina, prime example)
Worst lip syncing of the three games.
Poor dialogue editing (awkward pauses mid-conversation between characters)
No clear distinction between Paragon and Renegade choices in most cases
Musical Scores not lasting entire cinematics (Palven, Quarian/Geth war, Final space battle)
Music not being loud enough/sound effects too loud

These all ripped my immersion from the game and prevented me from being as involved as I was during the first two games. Dialog was fast, fluid and coherent. The music was accompanied beautiful (and appropriate) scenery. The digital acting was in line with whatever emotion was being expressed.....

....these were not as well done in ME3 and so while I'd love to play the whole trilogy, the final chapter prevents me from fulfilling my immersive experience.

MEHEM makes it bearable. Though I haven't done a trilogy run with it yet.

I'm playing through now. Took about two months away from the series, now I'm doing one final, completely canon run-through. After that I'll probably pick up Dark Souls again.

Get MEHEM , here's the MEHEM Trailer get the Citadel DLC and it'll feel better if you headcanon the Party after Shepard's rescue and discharge from hospital.

I can return. I just haven't as there's really no point to it, since the ending(s) are a hack job. If I liked the ending(s) maybe. But everything cumulating in the nonsense that is the Glowjob, plus the failure of brains over at BioWare regarding it, doesn't exactly have me seeing any point.

For no choice games, there are better. For RPGs, there are now better. Mass Effect Multiplayer happens to be up on my list of things I do a lot because there's more competence over at that end of the franchise, not that it doesn't have its problems. And it costs nothing more. Signs point to BioWare continuing to suck at what they do, so I've dumped their single player game like a bad girlfriend. The only good thing I can say about the series is having seen the ending(s) they provide laughs as far as I can see. So do their most blind faith fans.

Nostalgia for the first two games hits me pretty hard sometimes, but I haven't touched ME3 singleplayer since the EC. That said, I'll probably give the trilogy a few more playthroughs when I can pick up the Citadel DLC on the cheap and hopefully MEHEM will eliminate the bitter aftertaste the endings left behind.

I have seen the trailers for the mod on youtube. Personally I find MEHEM to be tad cliche and way more uplifting (ie. Shepard and his crew live happily ever after) then the ending I would have preferred for a canon playthrough. Ide prefer to wait until the mod is little more sophisticated, more varied in outcome and perhaps better at taking in to account your various choices throughout the entire span of the series. Nonetheless its certainly an imrovemeant without the Cataylst and his nonsencical blabbing.

Citadel DLC has made it easier since you can just pick Destroy, then load up a save at the beginning of Citadel DLC and pretend it's post game. With that said I can't go back to ME1&2 because the replay value of those games were destroyed by the ending.

Doesn't remove the Starchild so the ending's still terrible.

I'll never play past cronos. And I'll more than likely never play past Citadel DLC. Right now I've got my femshep vanguard with all 12 ME2 survivors to play, but it's really hard. Not just cause the ending ( still awful) but because the game is just getting old and I've played Mass Effect so much. So I'm just getting really bored with it. I think my time with Shepard is drawing to its end. I've done it all, pretty much, there's some small things that I haven't done but nothing even rometly big in the grand scheme. So.... Yeah. It's getting harder for me to play it. Plus, there's just so many great games. Play Metro Last Light now, and it's amazing. Plus BF3, Halo 4 the list goes on and on. And GTA5, more bioshock content, Splinter Cell, BF4 and new consoles are still on the horizon. So I don't think there's a lot of time for Mass Effect in the future.

Then the big one's........ Metal Gear Solid 5 and The Witcher 3. My body is ready... But is my soul?!?!!!

I'm a rebel. I'm getting geared up to do a trilogy run sometime soon and, gasp, I'm going in without mods! Will my soul come out unscathed?

I want to do a last trilogy run because of the Citadel DLC and Jack, but life.

Doubtful :P

As for me, I play older Biwoare games, ALpha Protocol, and look forward to the Kickstarter RPGs coming out in the coming months:  Shadowrun Returns, Project Eternity, Tides of Numenera, and so on.

You want MEEM (Mass Effect Ending Mod) then as it leaves Shepard dead or if bleeding out in an unknown location. It is however not as polished, obviously, as MEHEM as modders kinda abandoned it and went on bboard MEHEM.

MEHEM ver 4 I understand will have original music arrangements so I am lookingforward to it.

ME3 is a lot like Skyrim now for me. I can't play it, if mods aren't a factor.
On the one hand I am rid of the Catalyst, on the other, I aactually have interesting NPCs as my companions, namely Vilja and Cerwiden.

I haven't touched it since my Extended Cut playthrough. I played ME2 a little, but that's been it.

Clearly it isn't because you're posting on a ME forum.
This is one thing I'll never really get.

By that metric neither does MEHEM, it just closes your eyes at the parts you don't like.

I haven't played MEHEM. I have been told by fans thought that the Starchild is removed though. I don't like the presence of the EC Normandy rescue scene though.

I'm burned out on Mass Effect. I'll play it again someday, but every time I try now I feel like I'm a zombie just going through the motions.

LOL.

There's a polar opposite thread here on BSN about how ME3 is so good that it allegedly ruins other game experiences.

Quite a diverse demographic.

I don't give a rats tail about the endings, since I love them just as much as the whole beautifully silly-smart trilogy, but yeah I can't make myself play the games either, since after four playthroughs it got boring. It does not give me anything new and exciting anymore. I played my money's worth out of them. So it's all fine. They were a great experience which I will remember and will recommend to any gamer, but I'm done with the trilogy for a couple of years. I love steaks, but can't it that all the time.
