Wow....its a joke.

Oh the problem I was having was genuine, but the part about Liara being a stalker was definitely a joke. Too bad it'll just fly over people's heads.

@MegaSovereign

You're calling this an Anti-Liara thread despite Liara being a close 2nd for me in the LI category. I love her, but given the way she's handled in the game, she does come off as a bit of a creeper. And it's funny to me. My previous post was one of my personal favorite Creepy Liara moments.

So I started the Citadel DLC after the Udina Coup. I romanced Ash in ME1 and Miranda in ME2. I'm aiming for Ashley in ME3 and so far i've been pretty good to her. Yet surprise surprise, guess who showed up to ask if i'm having a bad day?

Yup everybody's favorite stalker, Liara T'soni.

Why is still up in my grill? How do I fix this? Should I reload my save and keep playing until I lock in my romance with Ashley at the cafe, or is this an issue with the game itself?

Wow. lol!! The devs will do anything to make Liara "the one". Oh yeah and don't invite Liara to your apartment. I had locked in my relationship with Kaidan but I thought I would be nice and invite Liara over since  I was inviting everyone else who wanted to see me. After our convo she mentions that she has a lot of work to do and should leave. There was a dialouge option to ask her to stay and bring her work over and I totally avoided that  by picking the second option. Then suddenly Liara was sitting on my couch and asking for her work to be brought up to my place.

Omg really? Why would that dialogue option even exists?

Yeah i'm sure Ashley would be thrilled at the prospect of another woman living in Shepard's aparment instead of her.

These are the sorts of things that happen when the lead writer is also the writer of Liara. That shouldn't have happened. While Liara is clearly a very important character in the story and clearly a close friend of Shepard's, the lead writer has to learn to recognize something called boundaries. It is obvious from the dreams about the kid that he doesn't. It is obvious about the Liara stalking that he doesn't.

Maybe Liara just happened to be in the neighbourhood when the distress call went out? The same thing happens with Wrex and James, but none of us complain about them turning up to save the day.

Say what you will about Liara, when Shep's a** got murked in ME2, everyone else moved on with their lives while Liara's stalker a** couldn't let go and delivered your body to Cerebus. Shep and the Galaxy owe their lives to her obsession.

As a male Shep who ultimately wanted to romance Tali, I was forced to romance Liara and Ash in my various playthroughs of ME1. In my Liara playthroughs, I rewarded her committment by sticking with her. In my Ash playthroughs, I reward her being a disloyal trick by romancing Tali or someone else just to diversify.  Ash gets a bullet to the head or shipped off to Hacket for her disloyalty and does not get an invite to the party.

Yeah I have no idea why Liara shows up and flirts with you by default if you didn't romance anyone on the ME3 squad. Fans complaining of too much Liara imposition? Impose moar Liara.

Her flirtation doesn't even make any sense. "Ooh, I like that brand new outfit that I've seen you wear a gajillion times before. Let me now initiate a come-on even though we are not involved."

I can only conclude she developed a brain tumor and needs immediate medical aid.

Apparently that's a bug, the whole attire deal.

No no, I like my brain tumor theory better because it excuses her weird flirty thingy.

Also I have no idea what I'm looking at, looks like instructions on how to swap the dressy dress with a different model. What does this have to do with Liara complimenting you on an old outfit?

I'm no fan of the mandatory waifu, but I completely understand why she and the other canon-crew (Vega, EDI, Traynor, Cortez, Joker) were "forced" throughout much of the Citadel DLC. It truly was necessary here to drive the plot along.

I just don't get why she (and the other options in this scene) tell me the same outfit I wear every day looks nice.

No wait, yeah I do, Citadel DLC is not real-life to begin with (Heaven Theory).

You're proving dg's point. Those all only work properly if you lock in your LI.

Because they had to have someone let new players know that "hey, this game has romances" and she just happens to be attracted to a Shep of either gender.

There's also the tiny factor of her being the only squadmate who was with you since the beginning that can't die until the very end.

It shouldn't be an old outfit, if the info in that thread is accurate.

Heh. That's actually an interesting and kinda humorous thing to think about: introducing new players to the idea of romances without a, uh, tutorial or game prompt.

"To romance Ashley, hit X."

People who play the Citadel DLC have likely already purchased and played ME3, and probably already know there are romances.

Besides, I was romancing someone and she still flirted with mah Shep.

Yeah I read the link that seemed to indicate to you there was a glitch, but it just seems to be a tweet where Priestly says that if there's formal wear for manShep there's formal wear for femShep.

His smug beard and his shifty eyes.

5% consider the Mass Effect Joker creepier than the Batman one.

Yep. Unless Bio wants to record multiple copies of dialogues, they have to give the lines to characters who are guaranteed to be not dead.

Romanced Liara in ME1 as she was prettier, cuter and had more interesting background than Ash. She adds some depth and soft touch to Shepard. Two military people would only go and have a rough sex tbh.

Still, during ME1 I wished to go with Tali and tried that in ME2 when annoyed by how Liara approached my Shep on Ilium (I mean... She seems to love him more than the galaxy, fought for him for more than two years, hoped to give him new life then still remains as a distant friend when they finally met? Didnt got it). I did whole Tali romance and liked it BUT something felt not right, like getting along with my own sister :) Also I couldn't stand her... feet, sry :P

But anyway, AFTER completing Tali scene, when Liara picture was turned upside down, right before taking on collector base I tried to talk to her again then she asked me to wait again and this time I refused which instantly re-triggered the Liara romance. I then played the Lair, my Shep fall in love with her again and they lived happily ever after when Commander blew Reaper asses to the other part of the galaxy in ME3.

Did anyone encounter similar bug? It was the one i liked though :)

All and all YES, I'm a Liaramancer, the more blue it gets, the better, as she seems the best throughout romance choice for my Shep with all the sweetness she brings along while being the most balanced as a character, not a overly attached sissy nor self-focused tough chick like Miranda or Ash either.

.  Well I always get Javik and usually Garrus exiting the ship, sometimes James.

Basically what I do is only use those three squadmates because they mesh really well with my powers, occasionally Kaidan, but he comes in too late in the game.

Talk to him after every mission, sometimes getting his generic "not right now" or "later".  Don't bring him on the end run to the beam.  And agree with most of what he says.
