I imagine the reasons for liking him are as diverse and varied as the many people who love him. There is nothing wrong with liking a character, or not liking one for that matter, but there is something wrong with calling people on it and starting a thread asking people to explain it to you. Do you start threads about all the Bioware characters you hate and aim them at said character's fans? Because honestly I don't see what this will accomplish. Cullen fans will love Cullen for their own reasons, just as you don't like Cullen for your own reasons.

You don't have to love what a character does to love a character.

Case in point, Jamie Lannister :)

Yeah, it's used a lot. I guess we could probably take a crack at how his story will resolve itself if it follows like the others.

I can see why people might like the guy but honestly I am in the boat of if he reappears I don't want him as a party member.

As it stands, I really think Cassandra will be a party member almost 100% but having Cullen as an NPC you interact with quite a bit is something I would not be against.  He showed signs at the end of II that he might have changed his opinion on mages (obviously this depends on the choices you make) at least a little so there is SOME redeemable qualities there.

If he is a companion then the option to tell him to "eff' off" or murder knife him should be there, I wouldn't do it myself because I'm a Cullen fan, but the option should be there for those who want it. As for Cassandra, I'm more than happy to have her as a companion too.

Why? I didn't have the option to murder-knife Isabela. So why should the Cullen haters have this luxury?;)

He looks so much like a real friend of mine. It's uncanny.

I just find him funny how clueless he is. He's like an Inspector Clouseau.. He thinks he's a Great Templar and Investigator, but he's pretty clueless. It makes him almost endearing.

Pics or it didn't happen, LOL!

You don't see Cullen with your eyes, you see him with your heart. If you just believe.

Anyway, I remember mentioning someone I saw at my university who look just like him. That guy even has the dark circles under his eyes.

That is awesome. lmao!

You could punch her in the face though, I didn't get to do that to Sister Petrice!

Or if he's married. Nah, I'm not that evil... or am I.

Seeing as how popular those two are, I'm shipping Cassandra/Cullen OTP.

Exactly!

I'm liking Jaime a bit more and more everytime I see him. That's how it was for me with Cullen too.

True.

Yes, but you have to admit, that head-shot was amazing even if we didn't get to kill her ourselves.

Cullen hasn't even had his time in the limelight yet. If he is a companion, and the option to kill him is present, it should be at the end of the game like Anders.
My hope is that he's a companion, and he is written well enough to make a good amount of the haters change their minds about him.

Don't forget to walk within the footsteps of a stranger.

Singing with all the voices of the mountain is also essential.

I dare say some people will change their minds about him. However, I think he'd also gain more haters too solely based on the fact that he'd been made a companion.

If he is made a companion you can bet your arse that there will be countless threads accusing the devs/writers of "pandering to the fangirls".

Personally, I'd like him to open up a bit more, so we can plumb his hidden depths.

I don't like Cullen, his actions in The Last Straw, really cemented my dislike for him, that said people like Cullen for many reasons.

Some for the 'fan service potential' he has. Some for the dramatic story line potential, some like him for his character development and some just like his personality and place in the story, I guess.
