Obviously, the Maker is David Gaider, who cloaks himself in the form of Sandal to watch over our characters whilst at camp.

So he is like Fizban in a way?

you, good sir, have just earned a great deal of respect from me.

and caused pleasant reminiscing of awesome character.

The Maker is a nuclear-powered artificial intelligence housed in a deep underground complex. The Fade is a virtual reality simulation, demons/spirits are lesser AIs, and the darkspawn were created when Tevinter mages got too close to the Maker computer and came down with an advanced form of radiation poisoning.

Dragon Age 2 will involve Captain Kirk showing up to talk "the Maker' into self-destructing for failing to adhere to its prime directive.

I honestly believe since the Tevinter Religion was before the maker (much like the greek gods existed long before christianity) that the "Maker" was just a Tevinter Dragon God,(maybe an eigth) who decided he didnt want to share so he decided to concoct a bogus story on how he is the only god and that all others are false and was strong enough to seal the others away and people still worship others so he gets pissed makes darkspawn and tries to stop eradicate all who oppose him.(Maybe he was the Tevinter God of the Fade, since thats where darkspawn originated in the black city)

First question, are all Demons created at once or are there some that materialize over time? Is there an endless influx of demons that can come to our world from the Fade?

If we believe that the Demons were once "created", by a Maker or not, and there are none being "created" as we speak or in the future, then it would just be a matter of going into the Fade and defeating every single one demon to rid us of the fear of abominations no? Having said that, I believe not all Demons are created at the same time and perhaps those that have materialized, like the one that states "there is no maker" can possibly have just lived its existence at a time when the Maker was no longer present.

That or the Demon COULD have a reason to lie to you. There is power that is derived from faith, will and determination being a few attributes, Break a person's faith and you cause doubt in them, doubt and belief cannot co-exist in the same mind, causing hesitation and momentary confusion and perhaps, perhaps not, reducing your determination. Having said that the Demon COULD have lied to me when he said "There is no Maker." if anything to gain a slight momentary advantage. Again, its purely speculation, but could there be Merit to what I say?

uhm, what?(LOL JUST JK)
its very plausable, but what if the maker is just a really strong fade spirit? if they all are just creatures in the realm of dreams that was created when the first people emerged and started dreaming and that where existance begins to fade(such as a place where all is almost forgotten such as Soldiers peek, which had a thin Veil.) they begin to seep out. What if thats all the maker is sort of what is keeping win alive?

I see what you're saying but why would a "God" like him preach and appeal to the higher morals of humankind if his aim was to punish them by destroying them?. "Thou shall not kill. " etc. "Magic is not meant to rule man..." etc. (Doesn't mean lock every Mage you encounter in a tower and watch over them.) Again, its based on our interpretations or in the game's case the Chantry's interpretation. Furthermore, the Darkspawn don't care whether their target is a religious follower who dare not oppose their creator OR if they are indeed blashphemous atheists, they will rip your guts out and eat your heart no matter who you are, thus he wouldn't really be eradicating his opponents just life in general. I can see a storyline where he IS a High Dragon like you mentioned but maybe theres another reason for sending the Darkspawn. Or maybe its just like the chantry says and its punishment for continuing to worship the other Gods..who knows.

Not even demons are in the Black City, so they are likely just as clueless to their origins as everyone else...except the Dwarves.

again many things are just put their by people themselves look at Leliana as prime example (the maker spoke to me in a dream) it was just a nightmare aqbout the blight as common as day, she just kept persuing it even the guy at *spoiler*ashes* told her she was nuts. The chantry itself is a complex bomb of brainwash, hell their nights are on Lyrium which is forced on them by the Chantry to *enhance their powers which alistair drops down to bull cause the templars can run the chant. Not to mention that their *Maker* abandoned them he isnt preaching he left as soon as they enteredthe black city and andraste was mostlikely a nut case like leliana with alot of will power and was a mage. (even leliana when talking about her says she doesnt know why the maker didnt save her?(most likely cause he doesnt care

If Andraste was a nut then why do her remains heal people? There must be some divine power at work, maker or no.

I think it could be possible that the maker was indeed a mage. It was said that he was the original creator of the fade. However, a demon has said "there is no maker". I would think that if a demon who came from the fade said it, that it must be true.

That same demon says "There is no Golden City" too though, doesn't he? And while there is no Golden City anymore, there was before it was turned into the Black City. So it's possible the demon means: "There is no Maker (anymore)! There is no Golden City (anymore)!". Meaning either the Maker left, as it is believed, or he is gone for good. Either way there once was one.

I guess the Maker doesnt even exist... Tevinter mages just invented some kind of disease or poison which affected them in the manner they mutated into "darkspawn". Other nations started making up legends about this involving a divine entity... thus the legend of Maker was born.

Why do you need a Maker that you have no idea that it exists, when you could have Ancestors and Paragons? At least you can touch Paragons, and Ancestors used to be living beings.

How do you explain the Black City then? And Fade for that matter, "Something" Created them.
