The honest truth of it all my guess lies with the Wardens. Even Alistair himself says it. "Do you want the chantry version or the truth?" You-"The Truth." Alistair-"The truth is we dont know where they came from, what they are or what their motivation is. All we know is that they come from the ground and thats as far as we have gotten."
So my guess is the chantry like every other religion is blowing thing way out of proportion and come up with ludicrous reasons as to why things happen.
What do you think the Maker is?

The Maker is the supposed God of the world of Dragon Age. However, is it not possible to be a sort of powerful mage
that has prolonged his life through rituals unknown. Think of it like the Emperor of Mankind (Warhammer 40k
). But what do you think?
Please write your opinion and why you think said opinion.
Cheers
I like the idea of this thread but honestly I think little of The Maker. Religion always seems to start hate for others, dependency on something higher than us, the fear of punishment or eternal damnation. I think if there is a maker we couldn't even fathom the kind of being he would be b/c we are too young & closed minded.
I do not really acknolwedge him sicne he is a moody child(or so it seems) that turns his back on his creation(us) that he failed to guide. The story is old. lol. I don't mean to be such a downer but I think all that matters is your moral choices. As I said if The Maker does exist I doubt we could even comprhend such a powerful entity.
Good post though, I'm sure they'll be a lot of very interesting responses!
i agree with that 100% of this post when it relates to this video game but that sounded like he may be stretching into the boarder of the forbidden (the forbidden being the debate of religion on game forum) and you NEVER want to enter the forbidden. but really dont.

Well, if a demon said it, it MUST be true.
Well, your making it sound bad. Let me put it this way, a demon has no reason to lie. Demons as i have actually seen are very truthful. They may not have good intentions, but they let you know that very clearly. They are honest about what they want to do and they feel no threat from doing so.
You have a good point here, hmm.

The Maker is a Second Grade teacher and Ferelden is an ant farm for the class' amusement.
Infer whatever RL meaning you want from those answers.

Just for clarification's sake, I believe you're referring to Pat Robertson. He's a televangelist, but he's not a priest or a clergyman of any sect.

Let me share my FanFiction with you about the Maker.
He is Ao, Thedas is a sanctuary world from the dieties actually. Ao wished to create a world where some races (Quinari are actually earth celestials, Drows aren't needed, they are too awesome) can live without divine interventions.
And my PC from the BG Saga ascended to godhood as a Lawful Netural god, became Ao's private god of awesomeness upholding the balance.
He was sent to investigate a possible threat (The Dark Ritual). Only Alistair survived at Ostagar, my former PC meets Alistair and Morrigan (and Dog, he is awesome) at the Lothering inn, ****slaps the bounty hunters back to Denerim.
After that he takes over the lead because he is the goddamn Batman!

Then again, is it not also possible he's a mountain of candy with pink and blue unicorns prancing around screaming about some guy named Charlie?
