The leeching certainly has gotten worse. I had a human engineer that had a grand total score of 1300 by wave 6 of a silver game. I kept asking them to go away and give their spot to someone who actually wanted to play but they kept walking around refusing to do anything. So I quit hosting. I feel bad for the other two guys who were pulling their weight but I'm not here to play the game for other people. If you aren't going to try, then don't ruin the fun for everyone else. Why are we not allowed to kick people mid-game again?

This is weird. In over a year of my gaming, I met ONE leecher. Most problems in pugs stem from refusing to use consumables usually.

I don't mind pugs...it's what i mostly play and for the most part, they try really hard and i like helping them clear waves. It's the games where everybody is kinda garbage that tends to get ugly...sometimes i try to do too much which mostly involves trying to revive everybody...which sometimes end sup with me getting waxed myself.

i 've ran into a great pug group last week...i think we ran about 5-10 games together and the host had incredible connnection...i was a phoenix vanguard so i was incredibly happy about that.

The only difference between pugging and soloing lately is maybe the pugs might kill enough to take 5 minutes off the match.  I'm getting tired of having 75 kills by waves 3-4 and soloing most of waves 5-10 in over 3/4 of my pug games.

you should try out for S.P.E.C.T.R.E.

That would be awkward since you Stikman and I don't exactly get along.  I will respectfully decline.

Let me start off by saying, if "YOU" were any good you wouldn't be complaining. Let me explain.
I ONLY do pug games, but "I" host..., and vet them out when we are in the lobby..., depending on "what" I am playing, but pretty much this is what I go by, Level 1-8 bronze, 9-16 Silver,16-20 Gold, and 20 only for Platinum. The only time I allow a (slightly) lower player is if they have a high Challenge points score. That is ABOVE 10,000. I did the Lodestar insanity with pugs... 4/4. They might not like being kicked from the lobby.., but its YOUR game, if they don't like it they can go and host there own. ( My Challenge score is 60,810 and my N7 score is 9423, so I have played a few hours (over 1500) so maybe...just maybe, I know what I am talking about.

Sounds like OP is used to playing with very good players and as a result has forgotten what PUGs are like. Did it ever occur to you that not everyone has a max manifest and are just starting off? This pointless threads will not change how PUGs behave, you should take the game less seriously and you might enjoy it more.

PUGs have been leeching, quitting, and going AFK since the dawn of time.

SOME players in PUGs do that.
Anyone who plays Quick Match/or host a game and wait for 3 randoms IS a PUG, including myself when I play in that way. But I don't do the listed things and there are many others how do not as well.

I play on PC, frequently playing Quick Matches (U/U/S, U/U/G depending on the level of the class I want to play with) when no friend is online and about ~60-70% of the games are alright, I experience the bad stuff only in the rest (which is not small amount I admit).

The worst thing when those ~30% matches happen in succession, that can be quite frustrating, but in general for every 3-4 games comes 1 where those players appear.

Consider dropping a level, hone your skills and find some friends. I know you have posted a number of threads looking for players, I have played with you which didn't go all that great as I am a believer in using equipment/consumables and not a believer in the support class theory.

Silver has tremendous players, in fact I ran a few games last week for the fun and the players were better than the majority of gold pugs I play.

Long ago when friends were not around I would run a silver game, it was super easy to find a good group, I would go one mic and tell them "Hey you guys are doing great, if you would like to run a couple of gold I would be more than happy to" the vast majority of the time they will bump it to gold and I would guess 99% of the time we had extraction. I recall two that we went on to Platinum with full extraction, one I will never forget, everything, very game was clockwork.

I have said this before and I mean no disrespect, sometimes when it comes to gold pugs and we can't take the heat, we need to look in the mirror, we all know we have to step up our game in pugs at this level and platinum, if we do that, run kits we are good with, good weapon for that kit and use equipment, personally I can't recall the last time I failed.

Due to work I only have time for a couple of games in the evening if at all but I will run a few with you again however consumables and equipment are a must on gold, if I am going to carry a team I will run pugs and deal with it, not posters from BSN who refuse to use these items because they feel they do not need them.

I've found new life in pugging. Its greatly entertaining to use the....

LOL ARENA!

Basically if the lobby is full of naked players, i switch to a high powered infiltrator, take off my stuff and join them. Then i kill every ASAP on waves 1 and 2 and suicide on wave 3.

Since i have enabled the basic text chat, i tell them that if they want the credits, they will need to do the objective, then i bleed out. After that i do a running commentary on what the team members are doing. I find it hilarious and more entertaining than playing the game and carrying 3 naked people!

So far no one managed to complete wave 6. A few naked teams completed wave 3 due to a juggernaut heavy meleeing everything but it wasn't going to save them on wave 6

Im successful, and honestly, in most of my PUG matches and I just ready up when I enter the lobby. I never host. People who kick are idiots and I leave the lobby if I come in to a kick vote going on. You cant tell how people play merely by numbers on a screen, and if you can, you should be getting rich somewhere instead of wasting time on video games. Learn to get your ass kicked and move to the next PUG or play with 4 equally skilled friends and quit whining.

Thats the beauty of PUGs. Every game is different. Win some. Lose some.
