Yeah I'm pissed. I basically spent the entire day playing multiplayer in multiple games and 90% of the time, it was with garbage players who cost the team the game. Oh, I'm 20 and 1? Everyone else better go 0-20.

I typically expect more from players in this game because it actually takes skill (As opposed to every other shooter). When I go into a higher tier lobby, I expect players to be good. It really sucks having to clutch every wave because the leeches won't medigel (Not that it would make much of a difference, but I'd appreciate you TRYING to help as opposed to just "Oh well, that guy's good so I don't have to do anything.")

I lol'd at the bolded statement. You clearly don't have much shooter experience if you claim that.

Maybe. The modern shooters (Halo, COD, Gears, etc), none of them really involve the amount of planning and cooperation that this game does.

TF2 on the other hand, is one of my favorites. Does your wisdom attribute skill to that game?

Are you serious? Good luck beating a team that has skill in one of those games by yourself. AI is so predictable in this game it is near laughable.

pffft. starcraft 2 is where it's at. i hate hotkeys, so just trying to zip my mouse around the screen to keep up with everyone else puts those games to shame.

Stop whining. Most of 'em suck, but you just have to get to the point where you can carry some dead weight, and it'll stop being a problem.

Come one, stop complaining against PUGs... First, you should use the right words, PUG means random, not beginners...

I'm a PUG player, no Italian friends are still playing, and just few of my previous teammates are still on ME3... So I enter and I play RANDOM... Do you think I'm not good?

Opposite discussion is about the beginners, newcomers, people that are maybe purchasing used copies of ME3... People that are keeping this game alive, letting EA/BW keeping the servers active..
You don't want to show them how to play? Ok, it is up to you, leave the lobby! You can see their equipment before launching the game...
When you were a beginner, did you play only bronze? With equipment? Always?

So, for any random player (pug), if you see me (I'm on Xbox) into a lobby feel free to switch on your mic and say hello!

Sometimes you get Platinum PUG, where you don't need any equipment, but sometimes you join a gold pug where you need everything. But this unknown can also be fun.

The only difference between pugging and soloing lately is maybe the pugs might kill enough to take 5 minutes off the match.  I'm getting tired of having 75 kills by waves 3-4 and soloing most of waves 5-10 in over 3/4 of my pug games.

you should try out for S.P.E.C.T.R.E.

That would be awkward since you Stikman and I don't exactly get along.  I will respectfully decline.

why would it be awkward? we wouldn't all be in the same room, watching each other poop

Silent step - 7 solo waves ?! Bleurgh !

Lazier , I was thinking about inviting you to a match yesterday but you'd already switched to playing some other game .

You just need to be more selective . I played 3 pug matches on Sunday after spending over 20 minutes searching for lobbies and quitting each one as I didn't like the look of them. I stuck with one group that seemed ok. The matches were not awesome but they went fine . I only needed to use a few consumables per match and we extracted all 3 times .

Or do matches with one friend to cover your back and two pug

I pug all the time now - lot of my friends playing (defiance, other games ). Also I can only play a few matches per day now so I just pug gold.

Pretty decent luck - just keep quitting lobbies until you find a gold one where everyone has consumables. If everyone has consumables they probably will use rockets and gel when necessary, and won't quit if they get grabbed early in a wave.

If I can't find a suitable lobby after a good while, I'll search silver and use some of my level 2 gear - I don't care what people play on silver, and I might find a good group to talk into playing gold :)

This thread can only go downhill from here. Anyways, PvP games are unquestionably harder than PvE games. There really shouldn't be a need to explain why.

You're comparing apples to bananas. PvP games are designed to give equal chance at winning to both teams. PvE games are designed for people to slaughter hordes of AI enemies.

Umm...lazer why dont you teach them to be better instead of complaining to BSN? You know that no filter will be made. There were plenty of pugs that i "took under my wing" if you will, and they are decent players now that can hold their own.

You already know the outcome of what pug matches will be.
why dont you pug a bronze or silver, and if that team does good then tell them " hey guys, good match, im going to step it up a little so we all can get better!" bring the difficulty up and see where it takes you. Being negative about it wont make them any better, but (since you clearly are a god at this game) if you teach them a few neat tricks about, say, enemy reactions ( like getting close to a scion it make him do his long melee animation=he is not shooting for a small time, etc) or the importance of always having a weapon that can pierce armor ( you do know what pierce means, right?) and any other basic game mechanic (utilizing dodge gives you a little DR [damage reduction]) will not only boost their morale to be better players, but might actually...make them better players.

Try it out, if you are half as good as you make yourself out to be, you should not have a problem. Be patient. You might make friends....so you dont have to pug....

Wrong..
"Pickup Group; used commonly in WoW and other MMORPGs. Basically means a group that isn't formed by people you know; instead, it's formed up of random, POSSIBLE noobs that will completely wreck whatever experience you are getting the group for"

so, again, PUG means random, that COULD be beginners...

It's always a crapshoot. I just did a match on silver; one guy clearly didn't belong there since he kept getting downed every ten seconds, one guy ragequit on wave two after getting killed cause he got downed in the middle of a swarm of enemies (and apparently still expected us to come help him) and me and the fourth guy had to pretty much carry the third guy up until wave 6 or 7ish when a new (much more competent) fourth joined and the rest of the game was cake.

PUG's are OK, bronze and silver are just fine and I don't care.

Gold+ however I become very selective. I equip level 1 consumables and only change them wen I have found a competent group. The first game I always use the level 1 consumables. Wen the team extracts and they have proven they don't suck and are not there to leech then the next match I gear up with good consumables.

I've got burned 1 time to many.

At first I assume everybody in the lobby has it's tongue hanging out their mouths drooling on the floor.

True. With the right kit and loadout nothing should come between a player and a kill. Participating in wave 3,6,10 objectives is a different story. Some pugs have players with the good stuff but too damn concerned with points.

Play with friends.

First reply I read in this thread is already dumb. Do you think you're clever? The first post obviously made clear that the guy doesn't have friends playing this game on Origin, asking for people to leave their tags here. And you say "play with friends".

Bah, internet communities these days.

Playing in PUGs is one of the few challenges left in the game. I found one group who was just starting to play gold and i've now coxed them into experiencing the joy that is U/U/P.
