I gotta have a Geth teammate. Either the Geth Hunter Infiltrator or the Geth Juggernaut Soldier will do. The Hunter could have the current MP Geth voice and it'd be pretty cool to hear some comments from a Geth's POV. Pretty much a Legion replacement with a penchant for shotguns instead of snipers, like Legion.
If instead, it was the Juggernaut, I could see him being more of a set-piece squadmate. Like, you can't choose to bring him with you on some missions (like indoor missions; there could be valid reasons, though. Like, he's in for repairs or Shepard sent him somewhere else). On other missions, his inclusion could come as part of the story. Like against the first Atlas you see, Shepard would have the option to call in an airdrop for a cinematic finish if he wasn't chosen to come with. It'd be awesome calling in the Juggernaut after the first Geth Prime airdrop.
The Collector could have some pretty funny/interesting bits with Javik.
And the Turian Cabal could be awesome, too. Give her a real Turian voice, and a rogueish personality, and she'd make a great replacement for Kasumi, albeit a little less playful. It'd be hard to picture a Turian (that's not Garrus) being all non-proper and stuff, what with their military upbringing and all.

Unfortunately the ME3 MP lacks the squad mate I'm most interested in.

Female Batarian.
I can't designate a role for her character as the codex doesn't imply how their females are integrated into their society. But seeing as how they are physically not integrated into the galactic society (physical npcs) nor in the lore (female notations) I can only submit that she would be female. Traynor didn't exactly get out of the ship much (not compared to cortez at least) So it wouldn't be new to have my leading lady kept shut in the ship. *shrug*

Fury and Valkyrie. I'll just spam Throw and Reave from a distance. Or obviously a Krolord. Or... So many of them would be so cool/useful to have.But from a lore point of view, I'd say a Geth because they're cool and for interaction with EDI, a Batarian and/or Vorcha because I want to know more about them and one or two of the new-gen N7s to taunt and Bully the Dragon that Shepard is just because of their cool improvements.

Turian Sentinel - because I'd have Miranda's skillset minus the ridiculous butt close-ups; although, poor Garrus would then be cast aside to rot as a love interest.
Batarian Soldier - a Batarian squadmate would've been some neat insight into their culture (recruiting Bray from Omega DLC would've be super), which one assumes is not always terrorism/slaves/douchebaggery 100% of the time 24/7. I could be wrong.
Ex-Cerberus Adept (or Vanguard) - having a Cerberus defector would've been some neat interaction, plus Smash is just neato.
Cabal Vanguard - because having a female Turian would've been possibly the coolest thing my FemShep could've had in her squad
EDIT: How could I forget Vorcha? Any of the Vorcha would've been cool, too, for banter and to learn more about their people.

I would like to have all the multiplayer characters in single player but if i had to choose i would pick
- N7 Shadow there's nothing like having your own ninja phantom on the team
