How does the game push you to her? I have multiple playthroughs unless she is romanced she simply comes off as a close friend and nothing more.

I don't think it pushes her on you. You can tell she is interested in Shepard, but all you have to do is deny her. She isn't pushy at all if you have a different LI.
Exactly
Plus the two times she comes to your cabin in 3 initially have nothing to do with checking on you, it's because she has information to relay to you and notices there is something bothering you.

Which, correct me if I'm wrong, was a bug that was simply never fixed in 1

I'd have to disagree. There's definitely an unwelcome vibe even after its been made clear you have no interest.

Examples? I don't ever recall her being cold or unwelcoming.

You're gonna have to cite some examples, my other most played Shep is my Garrus mancer and once I told her sorry not interested in ME1 that was the end of it.

i think s/he mean's unwelcome romantic interest from liara, rather than her being cold and unwelcoming.

Yep that's what i meant. When i roleplay i push past it but i the player leave with that overall impression culminating in the goodbye sequence. She's the only LI i get that impression from if non romanced. I think she maybe has a large number of non LI spefific dialogue that are supposed to double up.

Again to each their own I guess, I've personally never seen it, even with the unromanced good bye sequence I always saw it as two close friends, and I always felt any unusual closeness (never felt there was any but whatever) could easily be explained by possibly racial and cultural differences.

to be fair that was more ashley than Liara.
Only thing wrong with Liara is if you used the renedouche no. Then you were trapped with her forever.

If they're minds, don't you think maybe you should ask them first?
How?
Assuming the consciousness of a person used to create a Reaper is still 'alive' and locked within, how do you separate it from the Reaper A.I. processes and millions of other organic minds it is entangled with? How do you free it from its indoctrination?
There is not a single example in the series of that ever being done, and it may well be impossible.
With no way to reverse the process that turns sapient organic people into Reapers, Destroy is the only reasonable choice. Control and Synthesis perpetuate their enslavement.

Well, let's be fair here. She tells you at the base that she became "aware" while the Alliance is running training exercises. When Shepard says, "That was YOU?" she says, "I apologize, it was disconcerting becoming aware while being fired at." I got the feeling it was more a matter of self preservation as opposed to malice. Besides, once she's shut down and TIM gets her, she's pretty cooperative.
Edited to add: I like the Asari. And the Quarians, though after she made a play for my Shep's Garrus, I like Tali a little less.
