Yea, something was up with that OXM UK review. Like the guy mentioned above, they hosed the name of the Collectors, and 2nd, it's got what might be some spoilers in it. And to everyone complaining that there is too much combat, they say that there is actually more dialog and cutscenes then combat.

I tried to, but it was pretty much the whole review except for the last paragraph or 2.

HAHA, quote from the CVG review

"This adds a bit of drama to chatty scenes but we'd be lying if we said we hadn't accidentally shot someone in the face in a QTE-inspired outburst."

I was hoping this game was going to get all 10/10 scores, the reviews are confusing me they are saying ME2 is better than ME1 but they keep giving it a lower score? Atleast we know it is going to be amazing.

Sequels rarely score higher than the originals....

Since when?  The vast majority of games released these days are sequels and almost every time they score better.

They're just arbitrary numbers. ME 2 is infinitely more enjoyable and less of a chore to play than ME 1.

ME2 can be better but score lower since some factor in expected innovation.

OXM UK put a spoiler in the review without any warning, so there, thats your warning.

I avoided everything until then. :(

Don't know about 10/10 meaning no flaws, no technical flaws, the game can't be improved furthermore, etc; To me, it just means that games closest to that score have the LEAST chance of being not liked by a gamer who was or has been interested in the genre the game is categorized to be. Thus, when Mass Effect gets an 96 by IGN, it means that a gamer who has been a fan of action role-playing games or have had been interested in action role-playing games but didn't yet buy one before , will have a high chance of liking and getting enjoyment from the game. At least this is what rating systems mean to me based on my a postori knowledge.

9.75/10 - The thing that would make it a 10/10 would be co-op/multiplayer. Ugh.

Wonder if the remaining online reviews will go up in an hours once it hits midnight Pacific. Want to see what GameTrailers gives it.

No.  I don't want co-op or multiplayer.  It's a single player game and I don't want the rp aspects dumbed down for co-op.

It's still a fantastic score, but I agree. That's like complaining that Zelda: Twilight Princess didn't have multiplayer or that Street Fighter IV was 2.5-D or that Gears of War wasn't a sandbox game. It never tried to be a multiplayer game, never wanted to be, never promised to be... it's not a MP game and it hardly suffers because of it. The market is saturated with MP games and I rather prefer having a pure, insular single-player RPG.

I mean, Final Fantasy XIII is not going to be a multiplayer game either, right? Why should it be penalized for something it never aspired to be?
