After watching the gamespot review and and how glowing it was I don't understand why it didn't get a higher score? The only nitpicks were a few bugs/glitches and the somewhat tedious planet probing. It seemed to me that the reviewer just wanted to ensure that dragon age scored higher based on preference which is ridiculous. It was a very good video review though despite the confusing score.

Gamesradar gave it a 10/10 and said it as better than Borderlands, Dragon Age: Origin, and even Fallout 3.
Woot.

No score, but Joystiq reviewed it and had this to say: "The resulting concoction is the best game BioWare has ever made and the best action RPG in history... their sum is nothing short of one of the single best games I've ever played."
People... I think this game is going to be unbelievably awesome.

Can't believe Gamespot gave it a 9.0 even though they barely had any complaints!

Do we have IGN UK's score? It's 9.2, just FYI.

You guys didn't need or won't need these reviews.
You all knew you were going to buy the game and already have ME 3 pre-ordered.
The only aspect I find interesting about Mass effect 2 becoming the highest rated rpg of all time is comparing it to Baldur's gate 2(second or third highest rated). It's basically going to be a case of newer fan vs old fan bickering about the best Bioware incarnation.

I am just so excited to see all these reviews bursting with praise. It's a real pick me up as I trudge my way through a philosophy paper.

It was expected, since Bioware showed us that they had the skill to radically improve if they wished so.
I've been calling them overrated, but it's not the truth.
I really hope Bioware doesn't let it go to their head because they have a game rated at 96-97% on metacritic(just like how rockstar believed their own hype with GTA,especially IV before the backlash).

A few Norwegian reviews:

"Imagine experiencing Star Wars, Star Trek, Blade Runner, Alien, Firefly, Babylon 5 and Battlestar Galactica all at once and you're getting close to how Mass Effect 2 feels. Throw in some Isaac Asimov, Philip K. Dick, George Orwell and H.H. Wells and you're really close to hitting the nail on the head."
"Mass Effect 2 has made me regain my faith in roleplaying."
"Most epic sci-fi game I have ever played."
Pretty rave reviews.
