1UP - A-
1UP.com is one of my trusted sources. So, no worries here because an A- is great. I wonder if the PC version gets a better score (review only is for X360).

and gut-wrenching drama, set in a richly textured world on the brink of
destruction. It's a must-own for science fiction fans, who will love
exploring the depths of the galaxy and fighting to save humanity."
-Games Radar - 10/10
"The fluid systems -- the navigation, the combat, and the quick-fire
missions -- combine to make Mass Effect 2 an RPG that challenges the
genre conventions. The superb emphasis on character development, the
gripping plot elements and big-budget presentation aren't too bad
either."
-Destructoid - 10/10
"Perhaps BioWare's greatest success in Mass Effect 2 has been taking a
complex RPG and making it effortless to understand, play and enjoy on a
constant basis, because it has done this in a manner that should prove
utterly essential to veterans and newcomers alike, and more than enough
to suggest Mass Effect 3 will be the most important game in BioWare's
history."
-Eurogamer 10/10
Wow... I expected this game to get good reviews, but holygoddamn!
For those not in the know, Destructoid described the original as "a rental". Eurogamer's review of ME1 wasn't quite as harsh, but it was still one of the more negative-sounding ones. Quite honestly the last sources that I expected to hand out perfect 10s.

Luckily I've learned to blur my eyes and skip when I sense slight spoilers; works a treat.
I might just explode with anticipation.

"I honestly cannot think of any game that I've simply enjoyed this much in years." Can't wait! Why is the UK a few days behind the US in release dates?

Gamespot hasnt ALWAYS been that way about their reviews. There was a time when they were pretty good. The problem started a few years ago with the gamespot exodus when that fat guy was fired for his negative review of Kane and Lynch, and then pretty much the rest of the gamespot team followed. The new guys who are at gamespot now are honestly afraid for some reason to give a game anything higher than a 9.0.

yeah i agree some reviews i have seen there after jeff gertsman left have been pretty brutal. like for call of duty WAW they said it didnt have enough new weapons. This is such a stupid comment because you obviously can't make up weapons for a game based in the past on historical moments. I kno it wasnt a great game but it shows how bad there review system is....

Pretty harsh.
Sounds like some of te mongs on here complaining.

Well it's the first negative review we've had.
Well, Tom Chick, a fairly well-known industry personality (Tom vs. Bruce formerly from Computer Gaming World and Games for Windows Magazine) and reviewer, doesn't like Mass Effect 2:
fidgit.com/archives/2010/01/ten_things_gone_terribly_wrong.php
I could tell based on something he wrote earlier that he didn't feel challenged, so #9 was a given (I expected him to write that). For me, I expect that #8, #5, and #4 are going to bother me the most. But even so I doubt those are going to bother my enjoyment of the game (I never considered these Mass Effect games to be cRPGs), since all I care about mostly is story.

4players.de gave it 82%
+better graphics
-RPG= stagnation and it has less to offer than ME1 (no Items no new Skills) he hoped for improvements.
-The action part seems to be not as good as in any other shooter + he said it would be highly repetative with no tactics involved, after you learned the normal base tactic, that you can use in every fight.
exactly what i've feared a RPG that wants to be a shooter without having a good enough action part.
