Does the upgrade from tent count? If so, he should be showing up in a day or so.

And like others have said, the Island is probably where you're going to be making most of your bells. If you head there at night when all the pricey stags are out, you'll be rolling in cash in no time at all. You can also get all of the different island fruit by picking it up on certain tours, you're not just limited to *your* island's fruit. My town now has trees that grow lemons, bananas, durians and lychees, as well as apples and oranges.
My Nookling Junction is closing for renovations tomorrow...all their stuff was half price today, I picked up a pinball machine for 960 bells. It'll look good in my game room, once I have one. Right now it's stuffed in a dresser with like 80 gyroids and an Arwing. I really need Brewster's gyroid storage.

Just waiting on my boat for fun, sun, and big moolah. I've been a very busy mayor.

Nice - I've got a lot of fruit trees, but I'm missing cherries, apples, oranges, and persimmons I think. Went to the resort island tonight, and hibiscus starters were available - that was cool because I'd been hoping I could get some.
I live in Hawaii, so my town is slowly going to end up looking like the resort island at this rate - heh (if they had plumeria trees in the game, that would be so perfect!). Anyhow, the hilarious thing is that the very first day that Redd showed up in town...he had OUR King Kamehameha statue! It's the one outside the old court building in Honolulu (across the street from the Hawaii State Library downtown).
There's some sort of mystery contruction that started next to the Able Sisters in my town yesterday. I thought it would be done this morning, but the project still hasn't been completed - fingers crossed that it's done tomorrow. Oh yeah, Nookling Junction started renovations today, so I couldn't really get my usual furniture fix - doh!

Here's the guide
All my fruits should be blooming within 2 days. I will have those cherries, apples, and oranges. If anyone would like, I can open my town gate and leave fruit baskets. Just let me know.

Coelacanths exist! I was close to giving up on finding one after many, many rainy days and no results.
While my villager may not seem that enthused, I'm really happy with the Undine shirt I made. (I'm a big Secret of Mana fan... still.) I'll probably make the rest of the elementals' menu icons, or at least try to.

I finally unlocked the Dream Suite... and I can't use it. My internet is "unstable." I did manage to upload my town, so maybe I'll try again later.

Yeah, the game keeps saying that I have an unstable connection when I try to have the game find a town for me at random. However, when I went in and manualy searched by region/area, I was able to get a whole list of towns to show up! I finally visited another town (am envious that this other person seems to have a bamboo grove).
I would recommend that you try doing a manual search too - might work.

Yep, I tried that last night, and it works.
My town is a dump compared to every other one I visited. Everyone seems to have their houses completely upgraded, with nice brick walkways lined with flowers leading to everyone's doors.
I have weeds and beehives and old tires I neglected to pick up and/or toss out. I shake fruit off trees and leave it on the ground. My flower patches are haphazard and wilting, except for one ocean of red and black roses.
I started collecting donations for a police station last night, because as we all know, every town in animal crossing is a hotbed of crime, populated with serial murderers.

I don't have that much spare furniture to trade, I've got tons of gyroids and nintendo items I'd be willing to part with, though.
Is anyone here looking for a certain item?

If you're a fan of creepy, check that out. I read about it on a blog on Gamespot. I don't want to spoil that much, but if you can make it to the back room in the house with the dark floor and neon signs, turn the camera around so it's facing the door. I actually got stuck in that house, as the creepy santa villager blocked me in and wouldn't move.

Is anyone still playing this... I just got my copy for Christmas...
Though I have a 3DS I've yet to play it. It's like Sims, right?
