No particular order but I'll list the good to great weapons off the top of my head:
AR: Harrier, Typhoon, Saber, PPR, Lancer, Argus
Pistols:Arc, Paladin, Scorpion, Talon, Executioner, Acolyte
Shotguns: Wraith, Claymore, Raider, Graal, GPS, Venom, Reegar, Crusader
SR: BW, Widow, Javelin, Indra, CSR
SMG: Hurricane, CSMG, Tempest, BPP

I'm sure I'm forgetting some. Adas, Falcon, Striker all good niche weapons but not real DPS weapons.

Top for me in what I like to do. I know the Avenger sucks and is a water gun on gold and up. But I want my CD @200% on a lot of classes and the gun pool is limited at that point....

Maybe so, but it's boring when people here go on and on and on about the same 4 guns. 

I'm not busting his chops becausehe doesn't like the Harrier and thinks the Avenger is better.

Anyway, he seems like a Bronze player to me.  Just the mention of the Krysae and Locust makes me think that.  I wouldn't go into Gold with either of them, would you?  Maybe not even Silver for that matter  And everything is good in Bronze.

It pisses me off that this dude (OP) has the ****in' lancer. I've been playing since demo, and 90% manifest... Lacking only the lancer. So... I would give my left nut to kick OP square in the right one, solely for dropping a (metaphorical) deuce across my forehead, by saying that the avenger is a top tier (#2) AR, with the Lancer in his manifest.

Don't play bronze.
Silver is for testing new characters/builds/weapons.
Gold is for trying.
Platinum is for Nasa exploits or if I find a good squad.

I've been using these other suggested guns and honestly, none of the pistols outclass the Carni, at least not on a biotic character. Stasis and headshot the **** out of enemies. BE bosses. Or reave and Carni combo with the Justicar.

Lancer is decent in not needing an ammo box but I still prefer the mattock x on an adept or power heavy class as well.

Assault Rifles (15 total Unlocked)
Mattock The combination of weight and damage provide a nice balance but its single shot)
Avenger I like my cooldowns on power spamming classes at 200% though occasionally I'll use a Turian with Marksmen or soldier with Adrenaline Rush and use a Phaeston or Revenant to mix thing up. 

Heavy Pistols (9 total unlocked)
Carnifex Any character with a power passive upgrade is close to 200% with this, with EBV and any other attachment, why would you need to use any other pistol?
Scorpion -- I'll just throw this in for its novelty proximity mine which can be fun at times...but I always use the carni for a heavy pistol.

Snipr Rifles (11 total unlocked)
Black Widow --3 shots, free armor piercing mod, heavy damage...with reload cancelling via the cloak.
Krysae Snipr Rifle  -- unless this has been nerfed to oblivion since the last time I used it?
Is the Javelin up at the top now with the ability to see and shoot things through walls now?

Shotguns (11 toal unlocked)
Reegar Carbine -- been nerfed a lot I see but its still melts things like wo.
Claymore - Love it for one shotting all kinds of things--especially after a proximity mine...
Geth Plasma Shotgun -- its locking system make killing things easy mode from cover. A good gun to level newly promoted characters up with on silver. I'll often play a level one character using this gun, just taking a lot of cover and killing everything.

SMGS (5 total unlocked)
Locust -- I only have 5 smgs unlocked and they are all equally mediocre in my opinion.  I use the locust from time to time because I have so much level 2/3 SMG rail ammo and its an accurate weapon as far as smgs go.

Say what you will but the Geth Plasma Shotgun on the Geth Infiltrator is my favorite. I use it on Platinum all the time and I am always in first place regardless of whether I play with friends or random people. I spec the GI 6/6/6/6/0 use Disruptor ammo, Cyclonic, and shotgun amp for gear and weapon mod. Then I rape everything all day.

Unsurprisingly, the grand majority are URs. Given the Reegar's properties, I actually expected it to be a UR.

I agree with stryfe and rozh, but I would add the spitfire ( on the jugg ) as it fits that kit perfectly for my use on gold ( incendiary ammo 4 ).

I don't use the lancer, but I played some matches where this dude with a lancer 1 who was very effective with it on the huntress.

Yup I finally got one and...yeah I probably won't be using it again anytime soon.

It's sad but substitute PPR with Lancer it's pretty much what I use all day. Guns like Talon and Hurticane make it difficult to switch to other weapons.
