If you're not going to play as a gunner, you shouldn't be using an Infiltrator, which is a class designed to be strong with guns.

There are very few classes on this game where you can get by with only minimal usage of guns.  I'd stick to the Adepts (esp. Human, Batarian, Phoenix, and maybe Collector or Asari), the Engineers (esp. Human, Male Quarian, Talon), the N7 Paladin, or the Human Vanguard.  And even then, you will just "get by" - you won't be doing maximum damage.

Some things are annoying. Some are hard to explain, while some are easy; like if I were to constantly slap you upside the head, you'd probably find it annoying? Well, I'd imagine that this is why some might hate snap freeze spam. You keep slapping that snap freeze over and over like a one trick phoney, I'd imagine I'd want to smack you upside the head?

ie. for real, you couldn't figure that out on your own and had to ask why?

I guess I'll just stop it then... and respec my cryo stats...

But honnestly, with a good detonator (especially playing with 2 or 3 noobs) it makes the run alot smoother and faster. I would agree though, playing with 3 other advanced high DD class, it's a total waste. Can't really remember the last time I got to play with 3 high DD dealing class and did a GGG run under 20 minutes. But that is another topic...

I actually switch to detonators when I see Snap Freezers or any other AOE primers. Overload ftw, but I use others as well.

Snap freeze is useful for getting yourself out of sticky situations. But running around and only snap freezing is detrimental. That's all I think most people are trying to get across in this thread.

If you are going to insist on playing a shooting game (because whether you like it or not, Mass Effect is a shooter) and not using a gun, play classes that set off their own explosions.

Do Snapfreeze when Flamer (Vorcha,Geth) is burning opponents. It creates fire explosion around the AIU. There are creative ways of using that neat combo... like on the stairs. *evil grin*

edit/add: Add that with gunplay. Please don't handicapped yourself OP as even if you carry around the extremely encumbering Claymore (also extemely powerful), you can still regularly Snapfreeze.
