I think I post here because its about something happening in the game so it would be a spoiler right ??
Sorry if I'm wrong only been playing a few days.

Anyhoo.... I'm at Redcliffe .I have done all the lil quests except save the Blacksmith's daughter. I am on the part where you save the village. I am doing it in easy mode since this is my first time threw it. Do i need to fight my way to the castle ?? Or does it eventually end after this long tedious" run over here kill a few mobs ,run down the hill kill a few mobs".It's getting wicked boring. BUT My character will have great legs from all the running up and down hill !!!:o:lol:

When the night battle ends, the village will celebrate - and Teaghan will ask you to talk to him. Then you go to the castle.

Edit: Oh and in this forum you should put *spoiler* in the title if you might conceivably get spoilers in your answer, or if they're in your opening post itself. Hence it saying Spoilers Warning. :)

It's a long fight. But eventually you will reach a cutscene and Bann Teaghan (*swoon*) will direct you to the next phase of the quest.

Little tip: If any of the militia die, loot their corpses during the battle. Once the cutscene starts, they'll disappear. Hey, every little bit helps, and they aren't using it anymore!

Thanks and I fixed it to add the spoilers in the title. It just seems very very long >.>

As the others said. Evetnually you'll get a cut scene.

This part of the game is slightly problematic though when it comes to spawning the enemies.

If it takes too long you might wish to load a save prior to the battle and try again. For me that has always resulted in the battle lasting no longer than 30 minutes.

Do you mean you have started the fight to defend the village, and started killing zombies, but not got the cutscene yet? If so, you need to go exploring for the odd zombie that wandered away and got lost.

Run around the whole map and look for any spawns that might have gotten stuck somewhere.

But to be honest, when it bugs out, this fight can easily last an hour waiting for the last few enemies to spawn.

Sometimes running past the fire up to the gate helps making those up there spawn, but if you are already fighting down in the village square the last enemies might be supposed to be around there.

So run around. Do some cooking and housework (that's what I did to kill time when it bugged on me) and if after that it still is stuck, reload.

Yes, the people are right. Sometimes the undead get 'stuck'. You can either run and find them and kill them - or reload. I always do a quicksave at the top of the hill, just before I run down into the second fight.

this is a really long fight . I ran around trying to find any "stuck" ones. Nothing so far ,I reloaded to a point just before the archer runs up the hill saying I need to run down and defend the village.Still waiting. Its making me bored and sleepy. I can say its not one of my fave fights in game.

I don't remember much waiting. Kill the guys at the top, then archer tells you to go down, then go down and find the militia getting slaughtered by seemingly endless waves of undead. Keep killing until stuffs stops spawning. If you don't get cutscene then I check out around the lake if there's one more guy to fight.

Mobs keep spawning forever up top through, so don't wait for them to stop spawning or anything.

Good thing you have that save before the archer comes running!

Personal advice? Take a break and try again tomorrow. Don't let one problem frustrate you into loosing interest in an otherwise great game :)

It shouldn't take THAT long.

I did once have a spawn get stuck under the stairs in the village that I couldn't hit with any of my or my Companions' attacks...I had to reload.

Well, now that is your decission :D
Do what you feel is right.
If you are like me you wll have saved after finishing the battle of Redcliff, keep that safegame so you can go back to it if you change your mind about your decission.
But yes, deciding what you do with Jowan is more than just flavour, it ha an affect on what happens further along.

Saving him can help later on. It can also hurt. Save your game before deciding and think it through.
