For someone who was pitifully trying to trot out the "logical fallacy" horse on someone earlier, you sure have built a beautiful straw man of my position. Perhaps if you stand him up, he'll dance with you.David7204 wrote...

Exactly. Much better writing/planning would have given us a choice to take along either Wong or Al-Jalani. People already liked Wong, so getting to know her character would've been cool. Also, there would've been a lot of interesting depth and growth to explore with Al-Jalani's character, too, for the duration of the mission. Whoever you didn't take could've wound up dying on the Citadel in a blaze of glory, if that's what the writers wanted, rather than giving us the character's death via a stupid Twitter feed.
That is simply ridiculous. You're acting as if the writers could have brought in Wong, but it was just too much work because the writers are lazy and stupid. Complete nonsense. In fact, it would be LESS work, considering they wouldn't have to model a new character.

I know right! The amount of hate for Diana Allers is completely ridiculous and misguided!
She's clearly the most bestest character in Mass Effect 3 and her character development is something other writers should aspire to.

I guess she was a little ugly, but there seems loads of hate at her on the forums.

When Bioware brought up Kai Lang as a possible spin-off character, I'm suprised they didn't bring up Allers.

People wear tinfoil hats and hate The Man, so she gets a lot of paranoid nonsense directed at her.
As a character she did have mediocre voice work though, and a strange appearence.

The problem, quite simply, is that it's unethical.
An reporter for a video game website should not be voicing a character in a video game, full stop. Never mind said character being given the likeness of the reporter to boot. It looks like something underhanded has gone on, and that's the problem.
Now, if this was all just a coincidence, if the role of Diana Allers was intended to be given to the winner of a contest to have your likeness & voice go to a minor character in Mass Effect 3 & Jessica Chobot just happened to win, fine. I'd be skeptical that she genuinely won, but it wouldn't look as bad. But that didn't happen, so it looks really bad that an IGN reporter has her voice & likeness in Mass Effect 3.

I'm wondering why myself Allers isn't the worst character in the ME Series that belongs to Ashley in my opinion for being a racist.
