Okay. I have played ME 1 and 2 countless times! I have been a fan since the game came out. I have yet to play ME3 because I enjoy the variety of the first two and different playthroughs.  After several different LI pursuits over the course of both games, I found myself drawn to a lot of them. In order to help decide, I explored each LI and their conversations. This evaluation narrowed down the results to LIara or Miranda. Miranda had a hard battle with Jack but I settled with Miranda since I personally could relate more with her (even though Jack's love scene is so damn touching.)
LIara, on the other hand, has gotten me to fall for her several times. Just when i think im over her, she reels me back in.  I dont know if its bioware just trying to nudge me in that direction (since the theory is that she is BW's canon LI for male shep) or i genuinely enjoy her.
This leads me to the debate of who i should pursue in ME3, liara or miranda? I heard before that miranda's relationship is not nearly as fleshed out since she has a small part in ME3. But now i hear about this citadel dlc which raises the question, "Does the citadel dlc make it more worth while to pursue other LIs in the game?" Cuz i get the feeling that Liara's  romance is gonna end up having more screen time and being more emotionally powerful than the other equally intriguing LIs.
Now i am sure i am going to end up playing ME3 countless times as well but I want my first experience to be with my canon shep. All i need is a little closure on the LI aspect of my canon shep.
Who should I pick? How did you decide on your LI? What do you have to say about my citadel dlc question?

Like you I haven't played 3 yet so I'm no help there. It sounds like you've already decided that Liara is your canon LI... just go with her.

I dunno how u think I have already decided. Miranda is ****ing awesome. I have a playthrough saved for each LI ready to go for ME3. I just feel like Liara gets more attention by BW and I fear i might feel gipped out if i pursue someone other than her since they do not get the same attention. SInce the citadel dlc, I hear this may no longer be the case. I just want a perspective by someone who has played ME3. No spoilers.

In case you haven't decided already, and as someone who has an objective view of the LIs (don't really have a favourite), I thought I'd just add my view. I've played through ME3 with all of them and I'd go with Liara as she has more content and dialogue.

Sure the Citadel DLC adds moments with Miranda, which are great and all but that portion of the DLC within the whole game is still not much if you're looking for a romance side story. There are parts in the main game where the Liara romance dips but regardless I'd still say go with her for the overall experience- without being spoilery, having an LI who's also a squadmate leads to cool dialogue which addresses that in missions which is nice.

I'd go with Liara for your first playthough, there is a ton of content, most of it very good. Miranda unfortunately barely has a role in ME3 and you never get to go on a mission with her. The Citadel DLC content is very good, but you'll be waiting for a long time. The only thing I dislike about the Liara LI arc in 3 is the fact that she friendzones you even if you chose her in ME1 and were loyal through ME2. For something that long term, Bio should have made it a decision to end the relationship not constantly having to rebuild it, but it's a minor quibble.

I hope you talked to Matriach Atheta on Illium in ME2, cause there is a great scene early on in 3, all the better if you are a Liaramancer.

So to summarize: Do them all eventually, but I say go with Liara your first time through.
