One of my favorite scenes from the game was the squadmate convicining Joker to leave the Battle for Earth after the Crucible was actived.

How does the game decide who it is? I've heard that the game keeps track of which squadmates the player tends to use most and sometimes uses "favorite" squadmates in some specific scenes. Is that it? If so I'm very impressed. It worked out perfectly for me in any case, Garrus seemed to be the most fitting crewmember for that particular runthrough.

Is that what also chooses the the "I wanted to go" segment of Citadel as well? What about who chimes in over the radio with the love interest when the mercs attack the Sushi bar?

I gotta wonder why they didnt swoop down to pick up Shepard, I mean, hes RIGHT THERE if you picked destroy, like, you can literally see the area he was standing.

A lot depends on who you have with you while on the run to the beam- if they get fried, they don't tell Joker to hoof it.

But man, I loved the fact my team abandoned Shepard to die on the Citadel. True companions that bunch.

Like Kiwi said, the two wounded beam rush companions never appear in that scene. They're presumably busy getting treated in the medbay.

Beyond that I'm not sure what the criteria is.

Garrus & Liara were my two wounded beam rush squaddies, and it was Ashley that told Joker "We have to go."

It actually doesn't catch them in high EMS.

So they stop at the "Eden planet" for a bathroom break?

Because that's how it ALWAYS ends, beam hits them (somehow) and then they chill on the planet for a bit.

We Need to Go - All Squadmates

Kaidan, Vega, and Liara are the best of the bunch IMO.

And I get freakin' Javik. My absolute least favorite squadmate out of all 20 or so, and his voice is the last one I hear.

And it's confusing when you think about it. There's two presumptions the Allied command could have about the Crucible during the final battle: the effect is FTL, the effect is not FTL.

If it's FTL (for sake of arguement faster than Reapers pretty much), why are we running? At best you'll delay the inevitable. At worst, you get zapped in FTL and then get molecule sized bits of you spread across space. Why not chill near Earth and... ride it out?

If it's not FTL, how is this a good idea? If the slow and pudgy Allied vessesl can outrun this thing, then what makes them think the Reapers can't?

I think the person that tells Joker that they need to go is the person you have the highest relationship score with you that was not at the beam.

I think that's the idea. But I disagree with Javik most of the time, never take him on missions, and still have him talk to Joker.

Ship discharge from the energy influx. They can either do it as soon as possible, or "If the charge is allowed to build, the core will discharge into the hull of a ship. All ungrounded crew members are fried to a crisp, all electronic system are burned out, and metal bulkheads may be melted and fused together."

With Javik it is apparently is really easy to max out the hidden friendship meter, which is also why most people get him as one of the two squaddies that exit the Normandy after it crash lands in the epilogue. Did you get Javik there as well?

Well, getting yanked from FTL travel is supposed to kill all the crew but the Normandy is plot-armoured for that stupid Garden of Eden via Joker and EDI crap.

That scene is even better if it's your LI telling Joker that.

Interesting. I talk to Javik a lot, disagree with him most the time, and I hardly ever take him on missions either, but I've never had him be the one to tell Joker to go. The time I took Kaidan and James to the beam it was Garrus who told Joker to go. Which is understandable I took Garrus everywhere with me (except to the beam, because I was manipulating the game into having James be the injured one, roleplay reasons). With my other character I had Garrus and James at the beam and it was Kaidan who told Joker to go. I was surprised actually that it was Kaidan as I didn't take him on too many mission, I was nice to him, though, and talked to him a lot. And I vaguely remember Liara being the one to tell Joker to go, but I have no video of it so I can't be sure...

This doesn't exactly apply as the arguement was "The beam did NOT reach them"... so there would be no energy influx.

Does anyone have a link to a video with all the squadmates' version of "Joker, we have to go"?
I never get Kaidan because he is always with me for the beam run for the feels :crying:

4:30 - the Normandy outruns the beam.

Just because the beam wasn't a direct hit doesn't mean nothing happened to the ship from the crucible discharge at all.

They didn't know what the energy being discharged would do to them if they are hit by it.
