Unless someone else has a different answer, I suppose the only way to go about this would be to use the same Xbox profile, which doesn't seem like such a horrible thing to me. I do understand why that would be annoying though.
Hmmm.

That aside, yes, I love that they're doing this "Buy our game new, so we get profits, and in turn we reward you with extra".
Games and the development process are getting increasingly more complex and intricate, their pumping more out of the existing tech, the experience is richer, and everyone still wants to pay less for the same experience.
I have no problem paying money for a new copy of ME2, which makes sure my money goes to BIoware, which they in turn get to make even better games.
And on top of that, they give you a freebie for it.
But I understand your frustrations about the DLC items limiting to one gamer profile

It should be available to all profiles on that Xbox, but the DLC is tied to BioWare accounts so she could log into her Xbox profile and then connect to his BioWare account and it should be fine.
This makes sense. Is there some reason this wouldn't work?

^ this is true, personally while I like the incentives for buying it knew I do think that haveing say...the stone prisoner at $15 rather excessive, but at least they actually GIVE you an option to have it.
still $15 bucks

Well I Specifically meant Shale, and this new character for ME2 that were taken out of the game for this type of marketing. Which were taken out of the main game then used "fully integrated into the main storyline" as a + to the dlc
Either way though, this is just making me want to pirate the game and actively driving me away from a purchase that before I found out about it today was an instant buy when it came out.
I guess I just like how it was before, you bought what was on the disc and you played it and it was awesome, then DLC or expacs came out and you got that. This whole you kind of get the full game thing I am just against. I can see how it is great to stop used sales, but it is also great to stop me and a couple other people I know (who also have gamer wives) from actively not buying it, and in some cases just pirating the game.
Either way I guess i'll just wait until it comes out and see how it all works out, or if someone from Bioware will say exactly how it works and if we will have to buy 2 copies. I just hope this doesn't become more of a trend in games, because it is really disheartening.
*edit: also about the all playing on the same profile. I said I have a gamer wife =P She wants achievements for her profile, and to get them herself. While it could be an option, it isn't a good option since we will still have one person getting everything while the other profile wont.

I totally understand what you are saying. However, I cannot imagine that there is not some way around the issue you are having. Unless you are trying to play the game on two different Xbox 360s, I don't see why you should not be able to get this to work.
It also didn't work with the first ME dlc. Which is why I never got the second ME dlc, since I would have to buy it twice.
*edit: to clarify, the dlc didn't work between different profiles on the same 360.

Then we found out about how the downloads were bundled, so deleted the items that were causing problems and redownloaded the items and did it again until everything in the bundle had been downloaded individually. After that I never needed to sign on before the rest of the house could play and still have the items.
edited to add-> any chance one of you made the profile on a different xbox originally and brought it to this one? You may need to call xbox or use their tool on the internet to change authorizations and then redownload - that's what we had to do a long time ago for Bring Down the Sky.

I'm the only one with a Bioware account in the house, but the content is available to all profiles on our 360. When it first came out it was only available on mine so I'd have to log on and connect then sign out and then they could play like normal.

This is with Dragon Age?

If this was on Dragon Age, then OP should be fine. The DLC for ME1 was distributed differently, and was not tied to EA account like the DLC for ME2 and DAO.

We also had problems with Pinnacle Station and Bring Down the Sky after our 360 died and got refurbished, had to get everything re-authorized with a bunch of phone calls and then redownload to enable it for all profiles.

yeah, the first part was about DA - I accidentally submitted before I added the ME1 part and had to go back and edit it.

This is what I thought. So It may take some fiddling, but you can get it to work eventually.

Edit: Just checked with my Xbox Live account and my GF's account and both of the DLCs for the Xbox 360 are available to her. So if you download the DLC and she logs into your BioWare account it should be fine.

I just did it aswell. The OP is confused.Shale was removed because he would not have made it to the original release date in April but since EA wanted the PC to have the same release as the console, it gave them time to finish Shale. Again OP is confusing Ubisoft and Capcom tactics with bioware.

This actually sounds good. Then I wouldn't mind them trying to curb used game sales, since I don't really like gamestop anyways >.<
*edit: I've heard the story about the shale dlc, I still think they took it out of the main game just for the incintive against used game sales. so I don't belive the shale story = /

Dont have to download them twice just log into the same EA account. Thats it.

Sort of you download it via Xbox Live but you log into the BioWare account to use it; just both use the same account and you will both have access to all the same stuff and she can use it on her profile no harm no foul.ibplunderin wrote...

Edit: And yeah you only have to download it once.

*edit: if anyone from Bioware reads this, I'm fine with you doing all of this to stop used sales, but please just make sure you keep doing it like this, becasue this doesn't sound bad. (because with Assassin's creed 2 there was no way to share it with another person on the same console, I just figured ME2 would be like the first ME and the new AC2 stuff)
