Geez its like a sudden epidemic of these elites that has taken over the gold and platinum games lately. What happened? Did Bioware suddenly stop the private lobby hosting system?? I swear to God it’s getting worse ever since I stopped getting that flashing message about the new weekend challenge operation being available, shortly after the new characters were released (juggernaut, alliance infiltrator Unit one)! Prior to that I would stumble upon maybe one in an odd game but now it’s like they are everywhere and ruining the experience for us pugs.
You plug in your system and wait to join the lobby hoping to play a nice pug game but no, suddenly this high N7 ranking /challenge point and hacked banner Elite has to show up in the lobby! Great! Now we are stuck in an "Elite's Eccentric Way" game or EEW game. You pray that maybe he's not that eccentric and uptight about playing this "supposedly fun" game but then he starts on to equip consumables shattering any hope left inside! You know he's going to be a big pain in the arse when that mic icon turns blue with an accompanying douchebaggery sermon about "you guys should equip some consumables"! I mean seriously dude, If I had any consumables, Id put them on...actually why should I share MY EARNED consumables with guys-I-haven't-met-before! I don't have a stockpile of those consumables to be wasting them so gratuitously since they cost jumbo equipment packs and who would buy those when Premium spectre packs and arsenal, reserve packs is where all the good things are?? Sometime if I am feeling generous I might equip my explosive ammo and that’s it! And also, you know that there is a mute option available for you to use it! That's right, use it!! its there for a reason!! The last thing that I want to hear is some random nagging right after I have been nagged at by my boss, wife, kid!! But the eccentricity has just started. Next I'd see a red vote kick against my name. Its a good thing that other level headed pugs don't feel the need to play to his eccentricities by vote kicking! Sometime a slightly less eccentric elite would leave the lobby instead but that's like the dream come true for an eew game and happens rarely!
Sadly the match has only started and by the time he's forced to enter the game, he's suddenly become the de-facto "leader " of the group! I mean who died and made you the authority of this game? Get over yourself, seriously!! Last I checked, there are no hierarchical structures in this four player "co-op" PvE game! Mission objective is simple!! But no suddenly I start to hear a plethora of "alleged" game mechanics aka verbal diarrhea by him! I mean where is he getting all this stuff from...more importantly why has he learnt it by hard and then made it a point to vomit it out at the start of wave 1?? Last I checked, my mass effect game copy didn't include a "still evolving encyclopedia about the game mechanics with an in-depth analysis of developer's psyche about the balance change and sh*t"!! You know how much annoyed id be if i had to drag that 8-10 kilo monstrosity and slam it on my desk and flip through the pages right as a praetorian is advancing?? No!! I don't want it!! I don't need it!! I had a challenging, intellectually stimulating day and all I want to do right now is to just turn my mind off and shoot stuff...while enjoying a chilled bear (That's right, you like lone wolf, I like chilled bear)!!And no, its not about being better/best at the game! Being better at what?? A CO-OP PVP game which I perhaps play with my mind switched off, a game which does not offer a competitive tournament where I could at least monetize the said "better skills". You know how my boss/wife/kid would react if I ran to them and told them that I know the way to one hit kill phantoms on host?? Bottom-line, I don't care, its just a part of my various pastime activity! But sadly, I am in an eew game and thus i should suffer!
One thing which is a constant feature of these eew games is the perennial complaint about weapons and loadouts! I mean its laughable to see the almost identical - a hive mind recommended- loadout on these elites! Its almost always a smhgeth infiltrator with either a talon, hurricane or javelin or a smhTGI with particle rifle or harrier.. et-al. the pattern is so ridiculously predictable and mind numbing boring that i sometime wonder maybe its a bot which is playing for the most efficient, fastest way to finish the mission! And then the eccentricity reaches to borderline hypocrisy when he complains about me trying out a variety! If my fury is sporting a geth spitfire that's because she can; I want to try it out on her and laugh about my own eccentricity; or i just want to! The hypocrisy is more evident when sometimes he himself will sport an avenger X on platinum while at some other time try to vote kick a pug for doing the same.
Oh and how can i forget 'the perfect way of playing this game' bull**** that gets thrown around by him every single time! "dude, you are messing up the spawn"? Umm, you afraid of them catching you off guard as against your meticulously planned strategy there, Mr. Elite?? (People have planned families with lesser effort!!), "Dude come back in the hack zone!" How about NO!!! Bioware had this ridiculous anti camping stance and absolutely destroyed my favorite FWGG experience and now they want me to camp to get the money??? Hypocrites!!! No, I won't come in the hack zone! I'd rather fight and die on the opposite side of the map! Oh and since I don't have any consumables so don't expect me to get magically revived! you either suck it up and revive me or I bleed out but then you don't get to grumble since you were the one camping while I was the one fighting enemies! "Dude stop making the phantom put up her bubble!" This one gets me every time!! Hello there Mr. Elite, She's standing still, you have a gun, she has a head....you put the rest together!" However one funny thing to see is the way they chicken around and run scared at the sight of a geth prime! Its funny to see a single siege pulse sound cause an insta-nuke!! Be my guest and unload your nuclear stockpile but since I don't have any don't expect me to follow suit!!
I could go on and on but its something you all have already heard a billion times....or at least Pugs have over PSN and PC. I guess I'll say what everyone says at the PSN and PC that Elites are gonna EEW but we'll still PEW PEW......
