I am sick and tired of Elites ruining the public games! (Giant wall of text- not for the faint of heart!)

shortly after the new characters were released (juggernaut, alliance infiltrator Unit one)! Prior to that I would stumble upon maybe one in an odd game but now it’s like they are everywhere and ruining the experience for us pugs.

Hmm. I see your point and raise you the Novaguard.

actually why should I share MY EARNED consumables with guys-I-haven't-met-before!

You're not sharing them. You're helping yourself out. They only benefit you, after all. Next you'll tell me you don't want to 'share' medi-gels.

Sometime if I am feeling generous I might equip my explosive ammo and that’s it!

And the reward for the least generous person goes to...

And also, you know that there is a mute option available for you to use it! That's right, use it!! its there for a reason!! The last thing that I want to hear is some random nagging right after I have been nagged at by my boss, wife, kid!! But the eccentricity has just started. Next I'd see a red vote kick against my name. Its a good thing that other level headed pugs don't feel the need to play to his eccentricities by vote kicking! Sometime a slightly less eccentric elite would leave the lobby instead but that's like the dream come true for an eew game and happens rarely!

Maybe you should settle down, you're taking this game way too seriously.

Sadly the match has only started and by the time he's forced to enter the game, he's suddenly become the de-facto "leader " of the group! I mean who died and made you the authority of this game?

No one. Because you don't have to listen to them, and you obviously don't so...

Get over yourself, seriously!! Last I checked, there are no hierarchical structures in this four player "co-op" PvE game! Mission objective is simple!! But no suddenly I start to hear a plethora of "alleged" game mechanics aka verbal diarrhea by him! I mean where is he getting all this stuff from...more importantly why has he learnt it by hard and then made it a point to vomit it out at the start of wave 1?? Last I checked, my mass effect game copy didn't include a "still evolving encyclopedia about the game mechanics with an in-depth analysis of developer's psyche about the balance change and sh*t"!! You know how much annoyed id be if i had to drag that 8-10 kilo monstrosity and slam it on my desk and flip through the pages right as a praetorian is advancing?? No!! I don't want it!! I don't need it!!

Allow me to introduce the mute button. It comes included on all television remotes now.

Look, I can only say put up or shut up in so many ways and I've run out of patience, and time.

Places you can get away with no consumables and not be subjected to a rant by an experienced player, who probably had a rough day just like you and wants to relax but is constantly bombarded by selfish as **** pugs, are bronze and silver. Play those if you have no consumables. Invest in some jumbo packs and remember it's a game, there's no need to max out all the things.

I'm not understanding this... you're complaining about good players? I rarely find decent players on Gold. I always search for games because I play frequently and don't always have friends to play with. I want to find a squad of elites. It makes the time between me getting the Lancer/Blood Pack SMG go faster.

Galaxy sucks with quotes and people who made long posts make it troublesome to put gifs in.

Because otherwise you are at an impasse - you need to use consumables but no one is willing to make first use of them. If you don't want to risk your consumables on a random group that might not make it then host a private match and invite your friends.

Arguably consumables should only be removed after successfully completing a match though for this very reason.

But no suddenly I start to hear a plethora of "alleged" game mechanics aka verbal diarrhea by him! I mean where is he getting all this stuff from...more importantly why has he learnt it by hard and then made it a point to vomit it out at the start of wave 1?? Last I checked, my mass effect game copy didn't include a "still evolving encyclopedia about the game mechanics with an in-depth analysis of developer's psyche about the balance change and sh*t

Which is precisely why he chooses to share his insights and experience from thousands of hours playing the game with players that lack it.

If the most experienced player on the servers says that you should do X then that is probably because he has learned from experience that X works and not doing X usually does not work.

Last I checked, there are no hierarchical structures in this four player "co-op" PvE game!

How did you miss the N7 leader-board?

One thing which is a constant feature of these eew games is the perennial complaint about weapons and loadouts! I mean its laughable to see the almost identical - a hive mind recommended- loadout on these elites

That's because when you put all the numbers into a spreadsheet and do lots of simulations it turns out there only one loadout is optimal. Just because you can't be bothered to sit down and spend a weekend working out the ideal build doesn't mean that the elites are wrong.

And to be fair you are playing on the highest possible difficulty so obviously you are likely to encounter these hardcore players.

The N7 leaderboard is obsolete and useless if you're going to try to pin a hierarchichal structure on this game dude.

Unless you're trolling a troll

Damn.

I know, i'm confused about that too. So i guess they'd rather be teamed up with people that suck or something? Idk...to each his own i guess.

I always have to shake my head when people say they wont use consumables, or cry because there are people on the field whom might actually know what they are doing / talking about.

In a real battlespace you use every advantage you have against an enemy.
That means consumables, advanced weps, units, tactics and procedures. There are no quick restorations on a battlefield when you fall, medics cant bring you back to 'full power' when you took one in the arm, leg, or worse.

You want to play this game for 'fun', and I can understand this, but some people take their life, the lives of their teammates, and teamwork on the field seriously, and will do whatever it takes to complete the mission objective regardless if its a digital or real fight. Typically people whom have been there, understand the fields' severity, and understand that if you dont take the fight seriously, regardless the opponent, you wont win or you win with heavy casualties.

I kinda wish there was a 'hardcore' mode like in Diablo 2, whereas you only get one life and you must ACTUALLY plan out on a moments notice your tactics and movements.

The faster the objectives are completed the more cash you get to buy those expensive packs you like.
Bronze, Silver do as you like. Gold. Platnium I want to see people putting their best foot forward. This means consumables and no foolish builds. Take a Avenger X into Platinum with no consumables and will tell you to f+uck off.
Lastly I do feel your pain when it comes to people telling you how to play. that is the only thing in your post I agree with. If you want to try crazy builds with no consumables stay out of the big money difficulty levels.

Would actually give 7/10, lot of effort in the op but it did reel in some people that should never be let loose on the interweb with a credit card. Amazed some of them can put on shoes themselves

Yeah you're right it did hook quite a few people in.

I'll be generous and give it a 6/10, but only because I didn't finish reading it. Figured it was a troll/parody thread.

Is hooking people in really that hard? Anything on the internet will catch you people.

It's mostly stuff that's already been made fun of around here. It's really just a wall that even China would be jealous of.
