Something tells me i am going to get renegade interrupted more badly than Kai Leng but here goes:

I personally find that the gameplay and engine of ME1 is far removed from ME2 and ME3, to the point where i personally do not feel like starting a playthrough at ME1. What i would love to see is ME1 being remade in the engine of ME2 or ME3, with the same abilities, gameplay, graphics and equipment we have in those later games.Would anyone else also like to see this, or do you think it would be blasphemy?

EDIT: I realize that all 3 games were made in the same UT engine, but it is far more refined and mature in ME2 and ME3.

If you mean take the combat oriented nature of mass effect 3 and return the series to the rpg style of me1, then yes.

Me3 lacked in a few areas, but the actual combat gameplay was very well done

Nope ME1 is just fine as it is. I like customisable armour on my companions.

I'd rather see them remake Mass Effect 2 and 3 with the combat mechanics of the first.

As much as I have faults with the original Mass Effect game, I think it would be a mistake to make any changes to it, for there would be the endless "why did you change this...?" or "what didn't you change this...?"

Yes. Leave all other aspects of the game as is, however.

ME1 did not age well (only in terms of the feel of the combat), so this would've been nice, but it won't matter to me personally anymore. I am currently on my possibly final complete ME trilogy playthrough (currently in ME3), and don't plan on playing it again. Will play the heck out of the future Mass Effect games like I did this trilogy, though.

I'd like to see the inventory and weapon customization system revamped to ME3-style. (For that matter, I'd like to see the weapon customization system in 2 upgraded to ME3-style.) But I think it would be a mistake to switch ME1's gameplay style completely over to the tighter, small-mapped style of ME2 and 3. One of the big purposes of the first act is to set the stage, and part of what all that exploration of planet surfaces in the Mako is about is just acclimating you to the sheer size of the world you're in. Cut all that up into smaller missions, and you lose it.

I could go for some revamping of the "dungeons," though.

I would be more apt to upgrade it for ps4/next xbox levels, considering this generation is so limited..primitive AI lol

Someone should do visual improvements with Mass Effect 1, similar to Halo 1: CE Anniversary, but change the combat mechanics to Mass Effect 3 and some of the characters models, like Kaidan's realism and Garrus' face.

If they only revised the graphics and the combat gameplay, I think that would be a great idea. ME1 has the best story, the best exploration, the best customization, and the best RPG elements of the trilogy, but it's brought down heavily by the clunky combat mechanics and graphical hiccups. ME3, all gripes aside, has very fluid combat mechanics and decent graphics which makes it a lot more playable.

This.

I love the customisation and inventory in ME1 but hate the controls and the way the weapons get stuck in overheat.

The heat build up and overheat is more true to the ME3 weapon lore; I mean fire a black widow too much and it will over heat, but leave it sat for long enough and it will cool down on its own without thermal clips.  Needing thermal clips doesn't really make that much sense compared to the codex entries.  However, it's freaking annoying when it breaks so the thermal clip option was a good compromise I guess.

No. Bare in mind I play mainly as a biotic.

I go into a room in ME1. I enter cover and pop-out to shoot one enemy, I use Warp on the guy using Immunity to reduce its effectiveness. Then I use Lift on one guy and turn and use Throw on the one trying to come from behind, finally using Stasis on the Krogan in the room.

I break cover and activate barrier to boost my protection and go on mopping up duty to take care of the remaining enemies.

Now we go to Mass Effect 2 and 3. I enter a room. I enter cover and pop out to shoot, my shield drops near instantly because every enemy has pin-point accuracy.

I go to activate barrier to compensate but I can't because I no longer have that ability. I could have picked it as a bonus talent but I went for Warp ammo because my Shepard has forgotten how to apply ammo mods.

No worries right, my biotics can componsate for the class lack of gun ability. Oh damn though Biotics do practically nothing to shields now. The global cool-down prevents the fluid motion of the first game between powers, meaning I get stuck behind a chest high wall spamming biotic combos the entire fight.

So yes, give me back the combat system of the first game. A system where I always had an option, could always do something.

Armor customization - ME1
Weapon customization - ME3
Combat - ME2 (in ME3 it was a bit too rushy).

The global cooldown to be fair makes more sense. If you're mentally fatigued from using Warp, how is your brain all of a sudden able to do throw but not warp for example. I know this is stupid as it's all fantasy anyway, but it kind of makes more sense.

Definitely this for me. The games all have their biggest strengths, ME1's being story and ME3's being combat gameplay. I'd quite possibly never get bored of the trilogy if they did this.

No it doesn't. A super soldier like Shepard...who has been further augmented should not get tired so easily.

ME3's combat is all about zergfest and DPS. ME2's combat was the best.

Now see I could get the global cool-down for only biotics or only tech abilities. Where it falls down for me is with the mixed classes.

Why should using a biotic talent (Throw) prevent me from using a tech ability (Overload)? Still I suppose to ME3's credit they did remove ammo from the cool-down.

I still wouldn't have liked the change but I would have understood it with a separate cool-down for biotics and tech. As it is, I just feel as if they are limiting me for the sake of slowing down combat that didn't need to be slowed down.

Yes.. that would be incredible. And replace the MAKO for the Hammerhead or whatever its called in ME2. The planet exploration was boring as hell in ME due to there not being much to discover to be honest, but also the terrain was pants.

But I still disagree that it has the best story. Potentially it had a good story, but its seems to quickly written.

ME1 is simply epic ( I think BW had some many things right with it), so yeah it would be great to see what it would look like with some updated graphics and ME2's combat.

Agree on the landscapes and terrain in ME being crap, so they'd need to fix that but the Mako was cool to cruise around in and may be with the option of switching to the drivers view.

ME2's combat.

Say goodbye to the Geth Hopper and Stalker then.

Imagine trying to hit them with the weapons from ME 2 and 3. DLC weapons of Particle Rifle and Lancer, in ME3, aside of course.

Change the combat in ME1 and you need to not only change the enemies but the level layouts to include far more straight narrow corridors with chest high walls.
