Trust no one. Too many games where squaddies run right past you without a revive or they're standing right next to you and literally can't see you. I'm gellin'.

Unless you go down in front of a turret or amongst a humongous crowd, in which case you and another team mate can play "round and round" as you revive each other as the other one goes down. Cause it's so much damn fun!

[x] go down in front of a turret

[x] go down on stage in front of an audience

[x] play "round and round" - "revive" each other as the other one goes down

that does sound like fun, I just need someone to "do it" with.

I've been disillusioned by pugs. Just because someone is standing right next to me doesn't mean I'm going to be revived.

Disillusioned is a strong word for me. But I agree with the point made.

You can't trust pugs, often they have better things to do than revive you (for example getting sync killed by a brute, or lashing possessed abominations behind other teammates), or they just don't see that turret 1m from you and revive you under the turret fire for an happy death cycle, or they revive you when a banshee is one jump away (or a phantom is nearby)...or, the most common, they just don't care about it you and let you get stomped because they totally have to kill that guardian.

I also had several pugs who just walked over my body to get ammo from the nearest ammo box while there wasn't any enemy around, because, s**t, I need my repair matrix active!

I often gel instantly so that my team mates don't get distracted and can continue fighting. On objective wakes gelling and then using a rocket is often very effective. I would rather use expendable items than risk losing out on credits.

If I'm being revived and keep going down in a bad situation i'll probably use gel, use and ops pack and then run, usually to higher ground.

Despite the fact it's better for the team people often label it as rage gelling. I've never understood why, it's not my fault that my team mates usually can't cope without me.

When i'm downed by a turret (happens to the best of us) I often wait to be revived, watch the team mate get shot at and use them as a distraction while I take out the turret. Not my fault they blindly ran in >_>

Rage makes you stronger. Rage brings out the best. Rage intimidates the enemy. It feels good to Rage, it's like a drug. You cannot Rage when you're death so wise men gel instantly to fire a couple Rage-Missiles to get even.

I'm either mad at myself because I shouldn't have gone down, I don't trust other teammates, I died in a bad spot, or I got BS'd. So yeah, rage-gel.

It's not referred to as "calm, well-thought decision gelling."

 I almost never rage gel.

I don't care enough about score to use a gel just because I'm missing out on killing time.

I'm also not so good that I can afford to waste gel. If things go south later in the game, it'll speed the game up considerably if I have gel to spare, and I'm clutching.

I'll give every group of PuGs a chance to revive me, especially if it's during the early waves, with easier budgets. After a couple of occasions of being forced to gel, when I could have been rescued, I'll stop waiting for them, and start playing more cautiously. It's like a litmus test of my PuG's team-skills.

Here's what commonly happens when i stay down. Someone comes over to revive me. They come under fire. They do 3 things
i) Stop the revive (sometimes stop and start a few times like they can't make up their mind)
ii) Don't revive and fire at the enemy for a very long time (really should put a sign saing no water guns in gold and above)
iii) Drop right next to me.

i) leads to iii) more than 75% of the time. ii) leads to iii) about half the time but leads to my timer getting low more often than not. Worst is when the target they were shooting is a sync killer/bloody prime. They are shooting while standing on/near my cooling corpse. Make the connection

Lesson here is "Depend on yourself. Pugs will normally screw you over even if they don't mean it"

This....sometimes waiting for revive can actually get you killed on the way up...as in your teammate reviving you just as a Banshee or an Atlas is right on top of you..which results in an instant death...Image IPB

Sometimes if i hear a banshee or atlas approaching while i'm down, i'll gel myself so i don't have to go thru that...it really depends on the situation tho...

The second half of i is usually a result of Button Awesome. I've been downed a few times by teammates because I couldn't sprint or dodge.

Then on the flipside I've been unable to revive teammates because I can't 'target' their bodies in the middle of a fight, despite being mostly safe.
