Did Cerberus have agents within Council space who were non-human?

Because it is the only reasonable explanation I can find as to why TIM would even attempt to control the Citadel. Getting rid of the Councillors and introducing his own whilst making it look like Cerberus failed would have been the only logical move in my opinion.

But then again, I like to think I'm clever, but in reality, I'm not

Still, were there any in the books? Because I have NO idea how TIM thought he would hold the Citadel with the entire bloody fleet outside its doorstep.

Din Korlack, the volus ambassador worked with them before they became evil. That was what his quest was about.

As for the coup, I thought the idea was to eliminate the aliens all together and put Udina in power. He'd divert resources to Earth and infighting and chaos would continue to spread, making the Reapers' job that much easier.

Considering the stupidity of the Sur'Kesh mission I think that's the excuse Bioware used.

The Master control. Shuts down the Citadel ----> fortress that is pretty much impenetrable.

Paid mercenaries and agents maybe. But nothing official.

I'm guessing they used tools like bribery, extortion, etc. to get non-human officials, politicians, and other leaders to do their bidding.

In some cases, their agents may not have even known they were working for Cerberus, though Korlack obviously did.

Yeah, as someone else said, there's that Volus ambassador who was working with them, which makes no sense whatsoever. No, actually maybe that's not quite true. Both Humans and Volus have spent time ****ing about being underdogs in Council Space (only in the Volus' case, it was actually true), so I'm sure they found some common ground. Cerberus might have appealed to those feelings to reach a mutually beneficial offer, though I can't imagine what.

In one of those books you got an exiled Quarian who helps Cerberus attack the Flotilla to forcefully extract a test subject.
He enjoys the advanced Cerberus Equipment and he's very sadistic, evil and irredemable...

I'm guessing his psychopathical nature is what got him kicked out of the Flotilla to begin with.

Korlack started helping them out because he believed the Collectors were a threat, and Cerberus were the only ones doing anything about them. It was only after TIM went off the deep end and attacked the Citadel that he realized who he was truly dealing with.

During one of ME1 UNC assignments you definitely stumble upon a corpse of Salarian Cerberus officer.

Honestly, nothing about Cerberus' actions in ME3 make any sense, when seen in context of their ultimate goal.
