Am I the only one who uses key arrows to move instead of WASD?

I find the whole WASD annoying TBH it is so close to all the other keys. If I wasn't using my nunchuck I would use the arrow keys to move.

Does that prepare you a tea if you give it the command?

Hey Sy7ar, did you join a lobby with scrapsofreality in it yesterday?

I think I saw you but I left the lobby when you just joined.

It took me forever to get a comfortable configuration and learn how to use this, and now I don't know if I could handle standard keyboarding (mouse is Deathadder with nothing special except I did have R and 7 mapped to the thumb buttons, but took them away because I would hit them by mistake OR instagel while reloading way too often)

I slide my keyboard to the left on the desk and use the arrow keys for movement.

My "do everything" key is the Numpad 0.

My three abilities are on numpad keys 1, 2, and 4 (in order of how they're listed in the level up menu, 2 = first ability, 1 = second ability, 4 = third ability).

Reload = End, right above the arrows.
Medi-gel = Page Down, right next to end to aid with reload cancelling
Melee = Ctrl

Missiles, survival packs, and ammo packs are on their default keys. I never saw the need to move them.

Don't you guys/gals play with a controller? I would think it'd be alittle better then a keyboard since its third person.

Controller is better for every type of game except MMO and strategy...

Trust me, I played halo wars... Never before have I wished a console game was a PC game...

Any game that involves aiming a cursor or crosshair for long periods of time is at least 38 gazillion times better on keyboard and mouse. Or, hell, even a Wiimote. Control sticks are complete garbage at precision aiming, in comparison. End of story.

Games that don't involve such things, like 3rd person adventure, platform, racing, fighting, they all work great on a controller.

lol

I'll say yet again. Time-debt.

In the full second it took you to move your controller stick towards my head, I've already blown your head off with my mouse half a second ago.

They literally had to add two bypass points in ME2 Bypass mini-game on PC compared to console.

The developers of multiplatform games have to make PC games harder than console games when they have to factor in time-debt. This isn't fiction, I have multiple friends who work in the gaming industry for EA, Ubisoft, and independents, one of which was a cinematic designer for ME2. (He's more a frenemy but whatevs) who first introduced me to the term when I asked them why the Bypass game was different in ME2 platforms.

A console controller in it's current and previous incarnations is simply put, an inferior device, recognized by the people who actually make games for these devices.

Maybe for some of you, but I grew up aiming with a controller, and I doubt I will ever get accustomed to aiming with a mouse.

And besides, this is an internet debate, logic has no place here! Only rage, anguish, half formed opions and trolling!

Speaking of, Wow you are easy to troll.

Master race doesnt apply to a game that (is)

1. made on a different console
2. actually easier to play on PC than the original console.

Being a master requires being able to adapt. Asking for help on how to not adapt to whats defaultly given to you isn't being a master.... Also I have yet to see/hear a PC player adapt to this game on Xbox and claim that they just as good. Its to many limitations on xbox to adjust. Which is why most PC players choose the easy way out, they go back to PC... :D

Nice edit, took you four minutes to realize you had to add the word troll to make up for lack of an argument? lol... you're coming off great here Pheer.

Of course, the first mass effect was on xbox first...

And besides, you say master race, I say cheater. It is physically impossible to for us to come to an agreement, because we play on different platforms.

But in my opinion Not Requiring Origin on consoles is better than any benefits given by playing on PC... so there.

None of the ME games support controllers natively, and I have yet to see a successful controller mapping that gives you everything you need (particularly in SP) and doesn't lag like crazy. Getting rid of the mouse for PC is taking away it's best asset, especially for any kind of shooter.

wow and I thought I mapped my keys in a common way... apparently not:
move: wasd
aim: right mouse
shoot: left mouse
Power1: middle mouse
Power 2: scroll up
Power 3: scroll down
Melee: Middle mouse 2 (ive got two middle mouse buttons for some reason lol)
Q: cobra
E: ops pack
C: swap weapon
8: ammo (never bothered to remap it)
4: medi-gel
Spacebar: run/cover/use/EVERYTHING

To me it seems logical to have powers and melee on the mouse next to your firing/aiming buttons as you gunna need to aim them anyway and medigel can be out of the way as youll only use it when youre bleeding out whereas cobra and ops should be nearby for emergencies.. but a couple of you seem to have it mapped to mouse buttons.. just curious as to why? also surely its a pain to have powers mapped to 1,2 and 3 when youll be using them fairly regularly and you have to move away from movement buttons? obviously each to ones own and all but i just thought it made more sense to save mouse buttons for things that require aim? :P

ps. I'm not an 'experienced' pc gamer :P

Consoles really suck. Sniping with analogue sticks? Pfft. Turning corners while sprinting using analogue sticks? Pfft. Aiming and moving with analogue sticks is extremely frustrating. Wish I had a gaming PC.
