Having just finished the "Suicide Mission" and a few weeks earlier the "Siege of the Citadel", I've come away thinking that the final mission of ME1, is the better of the two although its pretty damn close. There's something just about that last mission in ME1 with the fight on Virmire and then the mission to Ilos and finally that epic scene of the Citadel and Soverign, battling Geth and Krogan's and finally taking out Saren/Soverign. SM is still epic and simply head and shoulders above what we got for ME3 but its missing something that I can't quiet put my finger on.
On another note regards the SM , I think BW missed a trick if you decided to keep the collector base and still had outstanding missions and side quests to do by not giving you any further interaction with TIM/Cerberus. This current play, I've been pretty even handed and kept the collector base and didn;t tell TIm to "shutup" with nearly all of the mini- side missions still outstanding so it would have been cool if there was even some basic interaction going on until the last mini mission or when taking on "Arrival".
Yo-Yo

They're both great in different ways. I agree the Mass Effect 1 climax is somewhat more epic, due to the scale of it all. But on the other hand I think the Suicide mission was more thrilling due to the sheer variety of things that could happen due to loyalty/upgrades/choices...
