Yes, and the thread is also over. So all you PC master race l'superiors may chill by grabbing a hardbum wooden chair (with no cushion), in front of a plain and simple PC desk, in front of a PC monitor (preferably widescreen, and no, it can be bigger the modern TVs), place left hand on keyboard, right hand on mouse, google shemale porn, and pretend you can clutch a real joystick. And shout "Take that you filthy console scrubs" spit, spit. Posted Image

Long live the master race & without that dreaded, dreaded auto aim!

@OP People like you are the reason we make offhanded comments about console scrubs in the first place. Also, can you turn while running and look in the direction you're turning? Didn't think so. Enjoy your gamepad.

That's not a gamepad issue, that's the controls explicitly locking out the ability to do so.

I'm not trying to say gamepads are superior to a mouse/keyboard combo or anything, but you could at least gain a little insight before making "offhanded comments", since if I wanted to I could buy the PC version, enable the use of a gamepad and then do it there to prove you wrong.

I remember playing Quake back way before console gamers even dreamed of playing online multiplayer. Started with a gamepad at first and thought I was **** hot. Then ppl started to aim at the feet with the Rocket Launcher and Rocket Jumping became a tactic when the game (sort of) expanded to QuakeWorld. The mouse+keyboard became a must.

Mouse and keyboard is much more comfortable for me and it's much more precise too. I can't stand ME3's console sensitivities, they're far too slow even on the highest option.

Uhm, yeah, what about the part where I know if I can use a gamepad with full analog support or not (as in not BS expadder stuff)? Cause there is not way I'll play without a gamepad. No, nononononononoooooo. .... Posted Image

Then I feel bad for you. You'll never know what genuine old-school FPS gaming is truly like, from the days of yore before the pain and misery of consoles began causing all gaming to get dumbed-down to the lowest denominator.

Have you ever played Quake? You ever seen some of the insane crap guys were able to do in that game? It could never work without a mouse/keyboard.

OK, I'm just finshed some pug games and came to the conclusion I've had enough for the day. Poured a bowl of cereal to munch on before bed, and realized why mouse and key is so wrong? You are playing a videogame with a keyboard designed for typing and a mouse designed for assiting with typing & other computer related stuff outside of gaming. This is what these two things were invented for. Meanwhile gaming pads were invented specifically for gaming. Not typing, not pleasuring yourself like the chick in Metal Gear Solid for PS1 tells you too, but for gaming alone. So now you see how silly it for the master race to say they know what they're talking about? Clearly bias. No doubt as I've just proven.

And for the record, most games were designed to be played via gamepad or Arcade stick, and still are. People just started to make games for mouse and key compatible to please the typical casual masses because they never heard of a gamepad and/or are too casual for that sort of stuff since they only game once in a blue moon. You know, solitare or whatever it's spelled?

So the PC master race needs to stop getting high off the shemale porn and face reality. You're fat, a slob, and need to shape up and hopefully pick up some real shemales, lolololol... I mean, trolololol. Posted Image

And to all a good night. This is BSN signing off. Coming up next, how to beat the fuzzies.

Yeah, controller is far superior to mouse & keyboard. Thanks to it we have extra efficient super OMNIBUTTON. What would we do without it, with separate sprint/use/cover/dodge controls? So many buttons, so much confusion. Because noone on PC plays games like WoW.

Damn, I came 3 hours too late.
Now who's gonna tell him that Mass Effect 3 has 0% support for controllers (unlike 1 and 2 which DID get mods that enabled full 360 controller support with analogue and icons), who's gonna tell him there are people like me who use their controller in every game that supports it (minus FPS and precision third person shooter games)?

Only asking because I'm thinking of starting another manifest on PC next (would feel real good to get rid of that horrid auto aim that's constantly ****ing things up especially for SNIPERS!!! AAAHHHH!!!! KINDA CRACK WAS BIOWARE SMOKING?!??!) But if I can't plug a gamepad and enjoy, then f that, I'm going to the PS3 and take my chances with Collector crashes for my next manifest.

was a console player most of my life, up until around the late ps 2 era. started playing pc almost exclusively since, wondered how I ever got by without good ole wasd and mouse. I tend to just use a game pad for platformers, but I can't imagine any game that requires manual aiming to be done with anything less than my board and mouse (or rather my nostromo and mouse)  speaking only for myself, the aiming is much more precise and pinpoint, but thats just coming from using this combo for years. Of course if you are used to a controller, the transition will feel weird, give it a couple weeks and it'll all come naturally.

with programs like xpadder, the game doesn't have to support the controller, simply boot up xpadder and map your xbox controller as needed.

Xpadder is no solution, all it does is emulate keyboard and mouse, it doesn't enable native support for analogue and in-game icons out of the blue.

I know this is a troll thread, but I'm going to reply to it anyway.

ME3 can be played pretty well with a gamepad. The powers have a basic auto-targeting system, and higher difficulties focus on bosses with big heads that are easy to hit. This isn't Quake or Unreal Tournament. There are cases where the mouse and keyboard are unquestionably more precise and faster, but it's not nearly emphasized as much in this game.

After a few other threads like this, I tried using Xpadder a bunch of times to run some PUGs with a controller on PC. With some loadouts (like the Krogan Shaman with a Falcon) it made no difference, since you're relying on powers and AoE. With others, like a power-using class that has a fast firing weapon, there was a difference, but it was fairly small. With slow-firing, precise weapon characters not relying on power damage, like sniper infiltrators, the mouse aiming was noticeable. I'd guess I could find a shot about 1/5 of a second faster with a mouse than a gamepad. That adds up over the course of a match. For ME3, the input doesn't make such a big difference; skilled players with knowledge of mechanics are still going to do well. A controller doesn't make a good random bad, and a mouse doesn't make a bad random good with most kits.

I guess if your prime concern is efficiency rather than preference, you'd want a mouse. But then, we're also seeing threads bemoaning everyone using the Reegar, Acolyte, Harrier and so on, so I guess efficiency isn't the only thing that matters even to PC players who get ornery when someone brings up gamepads.

Also, on PC you get no 'aim assist.' ME3 has the worst 'aim assist' in gaming today.

for fps games, a mouse and keyboard is a superior piece of gaming hardware. there isn't any debate about it. with anything a gamepad can do, a mouse+keyboard can do better.

and there is a reason why there aren't any true strategy games ala starcraft caliber, on consoles either.
