The problem I find is the clicking, sometimes it is amazing difficult to get a single squared touchpad to right click, and how do u aim and shoot at the same time?  Like ring finger on right click, middle controlling aiming, and pointer on left click?  HOW HWY HWERE HWEN   WUT  I am actually sorta intrigued and want to try this out for myself again.

Index finger on touchpad, thumb across edge of both mouse buttons.

Also you should eat soup with a fork, because using a spoon is too easy and feels silly...

Okay. My keyboard is Razer Tarantula, which is hardly typing equipment (every key is fully programable including macros) and mouses SS Diablo 3 and SS WoW 2 (14 buttons and any of those can be assigned at least 4 different actions).
Next your arcade. Missile Command and Warlords (IIRC name) had both trackballs (basically mouse on back) so this argument is invalid. Anyway, most games there have pretty much simple controls, one stick and one to four buttons.
Keyboard was forced? First game ever was text-based game controlled by gues what? Keyboard.
"Playing games with a gamepad is what videogames is all about." Lol at this. Tell this to teens, not us "old dogs" who went through ZX Spectrum/C64/Atari/Amiga and more, which all had games controlled by keyboard and/or mouse. Joystick was just one of options.
NES was released 1985 (outside of Japan), Atari XL 1979, ZX Spectrum and C64 1982. Computers (and keyboards) win again. Granted, I've got my ZX in 1990, but that's the price of living in communist controlled country.
That most games nowadays are designed with gamepad in mind is probably true. It's probably main reason why are they so dumbed down. No shortcuts, only a few usable skills/abilities and so on. On PC we have things like Starcraft, WoW, Freespace (and other space sims, but those are usually better controlled by joystick instead of mouse). Try those with gamepad.

TL;DR: Basically what you're getting at is that game that requires more than analog stick and a few buttons to control is not a propper game with which I respectfully disagree.

Exactly. I fully agree.
Seeing what passes for games and gamers today, I feel both sad and old.
There are so many games that can't be played using a gamepad, entire genres never existed on consoles... anyone saying those aren't real games or that PCs aren't meant for gaming simply has no clue.

Warcraft and starcraft

C&C / Red Alert

quake

Doom

counterstrike

These were the revolutionary games of their time that set the stage for everything else to come. And they were all PC games.

X-Wing and TIE-Fighter, Wing Commander, Strike Commander
Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights etc
Monkey Island, Space Quest etc
Colonisation, Civilisation, Age of Empires
Dune 2
UFO - Enemy Unknown and X-Com: Terror from the Deep
Mechwarrior
Unreal Tournament
Dungeon Keeper
Deus Ex
Half Life

All the MMORPGs

While consoles today account for more than 90% of all games sold, they only account for maybe 50% of the different genres of games.

@Meeps: That's probably because T is assigned to disabled textchat in coalesced, so you need to edit it (coalesced) to be able to reassign it.

@Titus: There were revolutionary titles on 16-bit computers, 8-bit computers and on consoles. It's just every platform has its pros and cons. Someone like complex 4X games, someone like shoot'em up shooters or platformers. There are good games and there are bad games. And frankly thank Big Green Pen (or whatever you believe in) for games as good as ME is (even as a console port it's still much better than "PC exclusive" Diablo 3).

EDIT: @Daemion: PC sales mostly doesn't include digital sales. I've bougt like 5 boxed games since HL2 forced me to install Steam and my Steam library has over 300 titles.

Yes, if you do that, many on BSN will call you something like "master race peezeehaxcheater". Edit: well the locked T is an issue of Mass Effect, what I more wonder is why default layout is WASD instead ESDF of every game I know.

I still buy mostly boxed games, since they suprisingly are mostly cheaper then the digital copy.

Sorry, I've been lazy reading BSN & more ME3mp, even my own topic here. So hopoefully catch up later today (but I still think I'm repeating myself, so no more point chatting + personal opinion is personal opion... even if you wrong, I guess? ... Wait, what if I'm wrong?.... heh, heh).

Anywho, I though of making this as my sig, does it make sense?; "Console race get in their car and drive to work, while hollier than thou PC master race single handedly push their toy car to work?" ... So, er, yeah. Maybe it sounded much funnier before I went to bed when it popped in my head? >_>;; But I'd still love for someone to draw this up. ... And, er, yeah, you guys do get it, right? ...Either way, which is moe fun too you? The adult fun route, or the baby in diapers fun route?

why on earth would i play a fps/tps game on pc without mouse and with a joy instead? thats like replacing a sport car for a wheelchair.

the only games where a joy becomes useful are flight simulators. strictly COMBINED with a keyboard. not without it.

By "joy" the OP means "joypad" or gamepad, not joystick.

I could never get used to WASD so i went Joypad(ps2 controller) in on hand and mouse in the other.

I even went as far as creating a contraption add-on thingy so that i could press R1, R2 and square with my left hand.

Only asking because I'm thinking of starting another manifest on PC next (would feel real good to get rid of that horrid auto aim that's constantly ****ing things up especially for SNIPERS!!! AAAHHHH!!!! KINDA CRACK WAS BIOWARE SMOKING?!??!) But if I can't plug a gamepad and enjoy, then f that, I'm going to the PS3 and take my chances with Collector crashes for my next manifest.

I find it better... don´t like joypad, joystick and stuff like that... that´s WHY I play on PC...

Wanna use this? Buy a console!!! :bandit:

And you say a mouse feels to easy, and takes no skill, but got ME3 for PC because you don't like auto-aim, if "real" gamers should not use mice because they're too easy shouldn't you just deal with auto aim?

Edit: And if you just want a new manifest ask bioware to wipe your current one (do they still do that?)

Look, I know how to master race and play. But I play & much prefer with gaming equipment, and not typing equipment (lol). You see, when you go to the arcades, you don't see setups that include computer mouse and keyboard. That would be silly. Mouse & key is silly people, very silly. Stop being silly. These are typing equipment for crying out loud being forced to do gaming.

Playing videogames with a gamepad is what videogames is all about. Gaming without it is just not really gaming. It's just geeting by. This whole mouse & key BS is really just a casual gamer getting by thing, cause they probably barely play games and/or it's not that important to them to invest in proper gaming equipment. Which is fine. But me, I've been playing since the NES days when I first discovered it when I came to Canada from Romania. And I love my vid games & gaming comfortably & games balanced just right for gamepads/Arade sticks. Posted Image

Then there is the matter that practically all games are designed with a gamepad in mind. So most games I play with a gamepad/arcade stick = me playing as intended (even ME3 was designed with a gamepad in mind Posted Image). And when lame companies as Nintendo & BioWare force me to play via another method without giving me the option, I give them the finger. Choice is very important in life, fight for it. Why haven't you guys done this already? There are clearly others here that prefer gamepads as me.

lol The very first games in history were play by text  commands, OP . Sure you can play Europa Universalis with a gamepad -hahahaha-

There is no BS involve here, it's just you. I like the gamepad as much the Keyboard/mouse cause gamer is my first name and my proper gaming equipment my hands. But is like to force yourself to be something you're just a peasant, a gamer.

I almost tear down my head with the biggest facepalm your post is. Obviously you ignore the Keyboard/gamepad  human-machine interaction principles are the same, and the gamepad is by definition a periferical  device, as an inovation to gain the open public atention, ergo casual gamers bait.

I remember when we had to boot up our games via MS-DOS and all you had was a wall of white text on a black screen.

on a side note. I do own an ecksbwacks, I have played halo, CoD, etc etc. I'd take a keyboard and mouse any, freaking, day, over those useless pieces of input hardware

That does not compute. It makes much more sense to assume that the casual gamers stick with mouse and key while the more serious gamers say f that. I'm a gonna invest in a PC gamepad.Posted Image

If you're on xbox you don't have to.... hell I've played PC FPS with the  wii remote and the nunchuk for the lulz.

Learn to master race.

this is getting nowhere. the OP obviously can't get it into his thick head that a keyboard + mouse is a superior piece of gaming hardware.

I'd rather argue with Gallowspole about reload cancelling. I'm done here. good day sir.

Anyone can say whatever they want, but it doesn't change the fact that most played games like ever are Minesweeper and Solitaire in Windoze and those don't have gamepad support either.

Oh yeah, almost forgot about this thread. Got nothing more to say either anyways for the most part. ... Thought that car example would of made sense to most? Guess not. ... But mostly sad I can't enjoy the PC version also with 60fps & no auto aim BS due to BioWare whatever reason BS. Posted Image

In the end at least there should of been a player choice to choose what they prefer. The only reason I can think of why they wouldn't include this option at least for ME3 is because to even the playing field and avoid a fight between gamepad vs mouse/key players. As I can see console gamepad players that care about score and competition complaining about how much easier it is to aim via mouse/key (even I said it feels like cheating via mouse/key). Sad, but probaly true. Sigh, but I personally don't care about score whoring or what not, I just want to play via gamepad cause gaming is only enjoyable this way to me.

That looks hella & horribly complex. Posted Image Another serious problem in gaming (Take a look at Elder Crack/Fallout gameplay, Final Fantasy job systems gameplay, etc, etc). The more complex a game is, the more poorly balanced it is/easier to find game breaking bugs/etc. because it would require way to many freakin man hours and testers to test all properly, and then re-test it, repeat, rinse, repeat, repeat, lol, lol, lol. Just a freakin big mess. Simple yet deep too is always the best answer, or at least pretty close to this (as in doesn't have to be too extreme), as the further away from it, the harder it is to balance things and not lose track of more important things too or what not (and yeah, complex games are still fine, as I love Skyrim still, lol... heck it even simplyfied over the past games in gameplay, no? Thus maybe why it's better?). ME series as and excellent example; look at that the overly complicated mess that is ME1 and how making things more simple greatly improved & balanced ME2 (too bad there's still too many that prefer ME1 broken gameplay for who know why reason?.. last playthrough through series I had top skip ME1 due to horrid gameplay... I mostly replay & always loved the ME series for their gameplay now of which part 1 don't count... er, no offense to ME1 fans, and so many other things rule best in that game, like story, enviroment, music,... just not gameplay for sure Posted Image).

Well, time to time cheer with some ME3mp. BS AUTO AIM IN 30fps HERE I COME!! Posted Image

Er, what?! I thought what I wanted was for people to see it from my perspective?... But what I originally wanted to know was just if ME3 had gamepad support, cause I planned on moving to PC next... only to find an unbelieveable and shocking conclusion that in this day and age the answer was no... and that mouse and key users are taking over the world + believe it to be the ultimate in gaming bliss at the same time... almost seems like, like... well, it's a very sad feeling. Posted Image

Either way, I best explained my view in that car driving to work comparison... which aparently flew over everybody's head... Posted Image ... Well I'm for sure done. I can't do a better job explaining what I mean then that + I'm totally not good at explaining to begin with.... wish I had a lawyer to use the power of words that I lack. I would win even if I'm wrong then. Posted Image  ... Besides, I got the answer I asked for with this thread anyways. Roll on the steak!
