Rage-missile

Against me.  I closed the reactor on two Primes and a bunch of Rockets and Pyros, and as the doors were closing, someone ran in.  He survived, and nuked me the instant the door opened.  And refused to revive me the rest of the match.  Which only made my accidental troll all the more amusing.

I don't actually see many people in the box.  I take it thats more of a Plat thing than gold?  Besides, the box probably works a lot better than the center, not that I've ever been inside it for more that a couple of seconds per game.  Holding the center is just really frustrating when you are playing a close range character.  I end up not doing much damage, just dodging around and reviving people way too many times.

Actually the box is everywhere! (I can't even shake it from my nightmares!)

And, no; it doesn't work better than the centre. At least the centre has escape routes, and plenty of them. There are many lines of sight which makes it dangerous, yes; but it works both ways.

If you go to the box; you're practically just climbing into your own coffin .

I would've thought that close range characters are brilliant for holding the centre (granted you'd benefit from having a mix in the team). I know that some people have mentioned how they can't play the Fury, for example, on Rio - if people are holding the centre and you follow the rest of the team. While I'm terribad with the Fury; I have appreciated other close range kits/powers like smash or shockwave in these kinds of circumstances.

I've only ever played one Plat match on Condor and I was surprised that everyone just held the LZ. I was playing a batsent and just spammed shockwave everywhere. I scored top, so it must've done something productive.

Hmm, most of my close range characters are purely close range.  In this case I was playing a Vorcha Sentinel with Hurricane.  I was almost useless until the enemy got right up close, meanwhile the rest of the team was picking things off at a distance for a while (all three of them were snipers), then getting mobbed by Dragoons and Phantoms, which is where they became useless and I had to frantically jump around with my flamer while they revive-chained each other.  All the while Nemesis kept all of our sheids down for most of the match because the others seemed to think they weren't a threat, and I couldn't get to them.  The Atlas DOT missiles didn't help either.

Personally, I prefer to hold the "box" end of the map, but not be in the box itself.  Lots of cover, but still lots of room to move.  Though, overall, Rio is probably my most hated map.  Even Condor is better.

With regards to what you described; I feel for your experience.  But you're still contributing even if you're not dominating the scoreboard like the others who have the advantage in that instance.

If you want to hold an end of the map on Rio; the one nearest the LZ/EZ is the easiest because it has 3 lanes - left, right and middle (and still plenty of ammo). The box is still suicide, really.

Irritating. Host was using modded, fully automatic arc pistol and only cared about gaining points.

Which means one of the others was a N7 6000 with a TGI and Harrier X, and another was a N7 37 Sabateur with a Mantis II. Why are you bringing a Mantis II into gold? The TGI was the only one who didn't make the extraction. Probably because he was running around nuking things with his missile launcher to pad his score. Not that he needed to. He was easily topping the scoreboard as it was.
