So I'm searching for a gold pug with my berserker melee quarian female engineer - after multiple attempts to find a match I finally get put in a decent looking lobby - one Fury, one Ghost and javelin+hurricane GI.

Hit ready up immediately - end up on rio/reapers.

 

So for the first couple of waves I'm running around meleeing everything from cannibals to brutes - normal stuff. I notice for some reason the Fury and Ghost gravitate to the box of shame - a bit weird on gold, this isn't rio/reapers/plat... wasn't until I saw geth until it hit me - this is rio/reapers/plat...

 

Had to sit back and venom/power spam a little more than I'd like, although still well on the way to 50 melee medal - ended up using a few too many ops packs and gel before wave 6 due to being reckless (kind of needed for the build to work). Surprisingly keeping pace with the javelin GI (the other two were too busy with the box of shame to contend for points).

 

Unfortunately lost connection around wave 7. Shame because I still had a handful of ops packs/gel and would like to have seen it through.

 

Only second time taking melee quarian female engineer on platinum - for obvious reasons, it's incredibly risky. But IIRC the previous time I used the wraith, whereas this time I used the venom which makes everything easier in melee.

Wipe on wave 10. All 3 obj waves were targets. I ran out of gels after 2 players executed on W10.

 

Last player was Puggernaut, refused to missile target 4, just kept trying to melee.

 

Atlas/Phantom/Dragoons stuffed it for him.

 

Also, lag was pretty bad.

Solo.

 

Might as well have been anyway. One player dropped out early, another bled out every wave and was afk for some (managed the 10 assist medal only), but I did at least have one player trying. I would've quit otherwise.

I used all my rockets for 2 objective waves, and for wave 8 clutch. Wave 10 objective = targets. I just ragequited while watching teammates meleeing a-bombs on the other side of the map...

I'm so glad you said this. I was speccing my fqe for the first time in ages and I wondered how she'd go as a melee character, since I suck with her turret.

 

Not wanting to derail this thread so I'll keep it brief, but here you go.

 

Don't need batarian gauntlet - it's too slow. Can use geth scanner if you like, but I don't like it. Target = 50 melee in a match. Be fast, be aggressive but smart and dodge a lot - I mean roll behind cover, back dodge, side, everything...

 

Heavy melee locks in from quite a long distance when sprinting - use this to your advantage.

 

Try and score melee kills on everything EXCEPT possessed abominations - probably the only enemy you should just shoot/nuke with powers.

 

Otherwise phantoms, possessed praetorians, geth bombers, ravagers (pop the sacs first and dodge out fast), brutes... there's no limit.

 

I've had some great matches and some terrible matches - sometimes everything just goes wrong, but when it goes right... it's just fantastic.
 

 

Edit: I should have added - standard combo for mooks is release charged venom -> cryo blast -> sprinting heavy melee.

Had a guy named crenger drop in mid game on the first game, then stuck around for the second. U/U/G, got reaper twice, white and giant. Took 22, and 20:04, which is great for peaesstree. Or at least great for me. I was using the voli engineer. Tactical mine plus proximity mine makes things go down fast if you have good teammates.

Smooth... and russian (3 players talking so ... uhm didn't understand one word)... o.O

 

Played as a demolisher on jade, geth gold... I made a few mistakes and got myself killed a few times, but apart from my own stupidity it was the easiest game in a long time.

First it was Krogan headbutts. When they saw my quarian do a heavy melee in response both of their characters stopped and turned to look at me. Then I was showered in headbutts. Same guys next game and we were all asari. It was awesome.

I kept searching for lobbies and ending up in the same ones over and over, I kept leaving and being sent back to the same lobbies. Either they had v low n7 or they were just sitting there, refusing to ready up, or the host would sit there for a while and then leave, breaking up the lobby! Was ready to start swearing, thankfully altbouli and hussar were at hand to save me from the pug life.

When that happens for long enough I pick one of the randoms and put them on my "avoid this player list" for skill so it doesn't affect their stars (as if anyone notices, but whatever).  I can usually find myself a new lobby instead of the same three Rio/Reapers and Condor/Geth lobbies over and over again.  Just throwing it out there.

Just had a host so bad for me, that my Claymore had 2 shots, on GI and sometimes 0. I don't even know, why I didn't rage quit.. I should check profiles of hosts before to avoid Australians..

Did a gold pug. I'm decent, but I can hardly solo even silver.

Wave five, and I have twice the score of anyone else. I think they kinda expected me to solo everything, because they weren't even gelling. Eventually everyone else was dead and I just lay down and died, there was no way we'd finish anyway >.<

Didn't notice the ninja switch from gold to silver . Couldn't understand why game was so easy , even for edi bot. Then it dawned on me...
Still they were v competent, they played well and did objectives , so it was a nice relaxing match.

Which is good because later on I did a platinum match with hussar and altbouli where our pug committed suicide every wave. Made drone escort and hack slower. Sent lots of polite hate mail
