I joined a pug lobby with 3 different krogans in it.  I did the decent thing and switched from my SalEng to a KroSol and put them to the test.

 

They actually returned my headbutts!  Needless to say, many a phantom got pimp-handed that game.

 

The fact that we randomly drew rio as the map spoiled the game slightly, because the later waves ended up becoming a turret crossfire cluster****, but we somehow managed to extract.

 

I had to quit the lobby in a hurry though when the host decided to switch it to platinum, I'm way too scrubby to play platinum, even if I wanted to.

first game in a few weeks, I played a preset game on Rio/Reapers/Platinum. We wiped on wave 9 because my pugs were a bunch of box campers and couldn't hang once the Phantoms showed up.

 

second full pug was on Hydra vs. Cerberus and we wiped on wave 7 because I didn't gel. I really should've.

Collectors/Condor/Platinum. Three good players, just... everything that could go wrong, did. Our fourth got DC'd and replaced with a newbie who hit Quick Match without changing the search settings. Unknown/Unknown has not been kind lately.

Just wondering if you find the game to run "smoother" on the Xbox, due to PS3 frames/lag issues, or if they are pretty much the same?

Yes.

 

The game is faster on xbox. You don't have to reset after so many games. You can play against collectors. Frame drops aren't as bad, and if they happen at all they're incredibly rare and are usually related to someone's xbox.

 

tl;dr: xbox version > ps3 version

Really? I've found the PS3 version to be just fine. I don't drop connection very often (3 or 4 times so far) and the frame rate isn't superb but it is not too bad. I haven't played it on Xbox yet though, that could be why. PC is deeeeeefinitely much better for framerate though.

No one even mentioned dropped connections, but now that you've brought it up, the PSN service is crap and will dc from the servers waaaaaaay more than on xbox.

Player base seem to be mostly North'murican so more often than not I'll expect lag, which is fine.... Combined with PS3 frame drops however pugging Plat can be somewhat.... well... frustrating.

Hazard Ghost, full team, w3 & w6 escorts. Only me and a Krogan Warlord were doing it. Then he got instakilled and left the game, so it was me and these 2 m0r0ns.

They bleed out on wave 7. Clutch. They bleed out again on wave 8. Ragequit.

Asari adept, talon with disruptor ammo.  Shoot, warp, tech burst, shoot, throw, tech burst, shoot, throw BE (that is when the first tech burst and the second didn't kill them to begin with).  Very efficient.  Bonus points for the three pugs who saw it, got it, and worked with it.  Super smooth game.

Krogan are born in a radioactive wasteland, breath toxic air, and wash themselves with Threswer Maw goo. Yet, somehow, Swarmers and Ravangers are killing my Honorable Headbutting Krogan Soldier. I want to eat the Bioware Pyjak who thought this crap out. This is racism!

Host was a Juggernaut playing preset Rio/Reapers. Runs out of medigel, dies across the map on Wave 10 pizza. I died trying to get it across the map, we wiped. After the match he sends me messages like "NOOB", "I HAD 4 ROCKETS", "HATE YOU" and "GO OUT". Platinum PUGs are something else.

It was lovely, I played a QMI with a Drell Assassin, a Krogan (Vanguard, I think), and a Vorcha soldier. Fire explosions and tech bursts everywhere. And playing the QMI with the Paladin has renewed my love of that heavy pistol :3

45 minutes? Blimey, that must have been rough.

It was fine for the most part. We got the center hack then I got grabbed like halfway through. What took forever was my 1 teammate soloing 2 primes and 2 crabs. That was like 20 minutes by itself it seems.

Enemy is everywhere!

 

Rolled my melee QFE on reapers/Jade - more enemies on screen, and wave composition changed so stupid number of cannibals, husks and marauders - not quite on the level of the husk mod videos, this was actually playable normally which was great - apart from enemy targeting and damage from our weapons being incredibly buggy. One poor Gi was teleporting all over the place and couldnt do much. Think enemy health values also changed - that or shots not registering a lot, because my melee combos still worked. Fewer banshees, brutes and ravagers - after the initial spawn it was pretty much only mooks - but dozens on screen at once.

 

Great fun because more mooks to play with. Shame the host left after that was all up for another.

My Human Adept was joined by a Krogan Vanguard, Batarian Vanguard and N7 Slayer. They died a little more than I would have expected from Vanguards and they didn't exactly gel. Otherwise fairly smooth run with a lot of biotic explosions all around in a little over 20 minutes. We had 2 upload hacks and 1 target elimination.

Decided to take the ACA for a whirl since I've mostly been running infiltrators or soldiers lately.  U/U/S, with randoms (two infiltrators with low-level sniper rifles and an engineer with a low-level Avenger IIRC, all probably with modest manifests as only one of them had any gear and none had any consumables equipped).  Turns out to be Jade / Cerberus.  One the infiltrators seems mostly planning on sniping from the LZ while getting mauled by Dragoons, there were chain revives, the other three obediently follow the "get to the LZ" announcement...

 

Did extract while unsure whether two exploding atlases were going to take me down as the seconds ran out.

Played Volus Adept with Hurricane as host.

During Objective on wave 6 my Hurricane was suddenly firing without sound just to stop shooting at all. Could not use Missiles, could only "revive" for a third of the circle. Heavy Melee . . . well it was usefull, but didn't fix anything. Thermal Clip Pack only reloaded. I tried dying, still jammed.

 

The powers were working fine though. And at least I got a nice AJA with AOE Reave and a Flamer user on the team. So there were lots of BEs and FEs. (The Stasis Bubble for Hunters was also fine.)

The game was longer than usual, but we extracted.
