Pug lecture

 

Dropped into a game on London with one experienced player (Starlight ?) and 2 inexperienced players. A fairly average mix really as far as pugs go. So about wave 3 Starlight starts giving the other 2 a hard time about how incompetent they are and how they should not be playing Gold etc etc . We got through to full extraction . With 2 experienced players you should always get an extraction .

 

What should have been a fun match for a couple of newer players trying do their best (they were good team players even if they were gettng downed a lot ) was ruined because of the whining and berating by this player . Shame some players carry on like this .

Was messing around with the Phoenix Vanguard and joined a game in progress. Died a lot, but had fun. On extraction I was making my way to the LZ. Naturally Wave 11 Cobras are a must because I am too lazy to take the long way around. Along my run back three cobras hit the ground doing no damage. The last Cobra missed the ground underneath a Praetorian and I got crabbed. Dipped out before the end of the countdown. I hope the others got the full extraction bonus and weren't penalized on my being silly.

I was playing FQI with the CSR and when the match started some english - 'excaliber..something' guy started swearing at me for having a sniper rifle amp as my gear. Calling me motherfucker and retard. I wasn't sure which player it was at the start so I decided not to help any of them if they were going to put up with someone actively hostile. It was funny since they started pulling out the missiles on each wave when I was top of the scoreboard. 

I dunno, I thought everyone was quiet and generally nice on PC.

As in, one of the PUGs got hungry during waves 9 and 10, got over the mic, and told us he was going to make a burger so we shouldn't bother reviving him every time he died. So of course we got a hack on Goddess against Cerberus and the PUG decided to go AFK nowhere near the hack. Plus, another PUG wanted to revive the first one every time because "he makes good bait." Luckily we still pulled through

I don't know why I keep giving pugs the benefit of the doubt about going out of bounds in a lobby pre-set to Hydra.
Most of the time I'm just going to be proven wrong in the most annoying fashion possible.

I wanted to try the Volus Adept with the Kishock, and it was actually a lot of fun. Not so much for one of the teammates though, a Krogan Soldier. I guess Krogan pride was especially strong with this one, and he wasn't going to have other races outscore him, let alone a Volus. One time I got dropped next to him, and instead of reviving me, he just walked around me as if he was doing some sort of happy dance, I don't know. I picked myself up and shrugged it off. During extraction, it became apparent as he went full on aggressive nuking, gel'ing a few times and using quite a few missiles. His pride was intact though. He got first place! I think it was too stressful for him though; he quit immediately after we returned to the lobby. He could've asked... I would've given him all the points he wanted lol.

 

Pride only hurts, it never helps.

I played few games with two italian pugs I've seen before, a guy and a girl. They guy was average, but the girl was great. They talked during all the game, non-stop, and I have no idea about what. Sometimes I was more focused on deciphering what they were saying than paying attention to what I was doing.

At some point they started talking about Oompa-Loompas (!) which makes me laugh, since my Valkyrie has a yellow-orange suit below her yellow-ish tech armor.

I thought I had gotten the invincible last enemy last night... This nemesis kept ninja dodging my Krogan HM, even when I would lock on to her... Got so frustrated I whipped out my missile, and fired 6 missiles at her feet, to no effect. Team shows up, the PUG empties a whole Reegar clip into her and only takes down one bar of shields. I was getting ready to quit, then she just disappeared, and the killfeed said she got killed by somebody's Warp. Very bizarre. And ofc I had to spend the rest of the (plat) game without any missiles (and I think we got targets on w10, OFC). 

 

Also had a laggy Reactor Hazard Plat game last night with Xain and HurryHarriet- we got a w6 escort through the reactor, but I was a little late pushing the button and the only person I cooked was myself.   Then somebody else cooked me on w9 (I think)- I'm about 99% sure it was Xain. That guy's a fuckin' ninja with that Reactor button.

I did. Lol. Seriously, Reactor Hazard is the best map on this game, and it isn't even close. Never gets old.
