I looked at my upcoming challenges and thought Turiand Havoc would be fun to play. Not going to bother tweaking the kit I just want to get a quickie in. Off-host Crusader, sure! Laggy, still got twenty headshots! Host got disconnected, I'll stick with it. We have no problem dusting off Collectors.

 

Then Wave 11.

I've been loosing my connection to the server. Allegedly, I am on the top end of internet service through my provider (Shaw, I'm Canadian) but lag has been an issue. Its kind of like being in that Futurama episode where the Professor uses chronotons to grow his squad of nuclear super mutants to play the Globe Trotters and it causes time skips.

Venom

 

Holy hell, the Venom.  I never really understood BSN's obsession with this weapon, possibly due to mine being especially low-ranked.  However, I got it up to IV, so I decided to take it for a spin on my Demolisher.  We landed on Gold/Goddess/Reapers.  And I promptly got a killstreak with a charged shot w/incendiary ammo and an arc grenade.

 

Immediately changed my mind.  Top-tier weapon, 10/10.  Plus you can be really obnoxious and cause never-ending screenshake with it, which definitely also counts in its favour.

Was playing a solo gold game against Geth using a level 1 AIU with an eviscerator + level 4 gear (obviously the only kit I'm mad enough to use at level 1 on higher difficulties).

 

Around wave 5-6, people started coming in. We finished and on the result screen it shows my shiny level 1 with 1st place. 

 

On lobby. Kick symbol appears next to my name. In my own lobby. Hrmph. Obviously no one joined in for the kick but the gong of some people. >.>

I just did my first Platinum ever! With PUGs! And this is the result! *HAPPY DANCES*        

 

 

I honestly didn't believe that I would make it when we started, seeing that I only carried Paladin III as my weapon, and we got upload/hack, escort ,escort, but yayyyyyyyyy!

Now that I'm getting used to Gold, maybe I'll try a Platinum match someday....but with a decent team please. This afternoon has been horrible...I've carried on by myself more waves that I've ever carried in my lifetime in Silver >

Two games: Bronze/Hydra/Cerberus-Collectors

Putting Aedolon's Justicar build to use and getting used to not tanking all the time. Joined a game in the lobby but ended up hosting it. Everyone starts the game but had bailed during the loading, so I did eight waves by myself before a young kid under the name "Naughtybear" joins with a Turian Saboteur. Nice kid, better player by far. I'd run with him again any day.

Did another run on Hydra for Collectors but with a full team. Again, fun, good people. Getting used to taking cover. One thing I seem to be good at -tanking or not- is killing Scions relatively quickly.
My Asari Adapt is 66635 so I may just give her a try next. Although that glitch happened and my Volus, Batarian and Collector Adepts are all 66666.

Honestly, at that time I was actually looking for Silver games but for some reason the game decided to land my ass on a Platinum lobby. I was freaking out for a second and almost bailed out, but then I decided to stay since I was curious how I can fare in a Platinum game. I immediately switched to my most comfortable kit to play which is Asari Huntress and equipped myself with Stronghold V, Power Amplifier Module 3, Warp 2 ammo, and Paladin III (hahaha).

 

I am ready to apologize for the rest of the team after what I expected to be a horrible match but the end result defy my expectations ^___^ Focusing all those Cloak-powered Dark Channel on Phantoms, Banshees, Brutes, Primes, and *especially* those bloody Ravagers really paid off, hahaha.

 

And now I am feeling afraid again of trying my 2nd Platinum, hahaha. I have no doubt in my mind that I need a good team to function well, though. You should try a Platinum too, just to sated that curiosity and who knows, you might land on a good group like mine!

Dropped into an UUG lobby with three others; the host, a Jug, looked pretty new. The other two PUGs were talkative and well-enough equipped, so I readied up.

Hazard Glacier Collectors.

Things went pretty well even though there was a fair bit of downing (and a humorous instance where a possessed Abom exploded right when my FemQuarian was getting up, putting her right back down again). Wave 3 was a hack in the science labs which got a little messy in the end, but it was all good.

Wave 6 was devices. I got the first one, but in the process of going after the second (which was in the swarmed LZ), the other three either died or bled out. The two on mic also said that the objective appeared glitched on their end.

So I proceeded to run circles around Glacier until I finally managed to cap the fourth with one medi-gel and one rocket left.
And we would have gone on to wave 7...if a pair of sneaky Possessed Captains and a pair of Scions weren't breathing down my neck after I used my last rocket on the two Praetorians.

Something I've noticed (on PC) is that if I search for a specific difficulty, hit cancel, and then start the search again, it's completely random what difficulty level I get.

I've gone looking for Bronze and Silver but have been placed in Gold and Platinum games already underway - between rounds 3-8. My Jugg has been able to cope with Gold and the Shaman was ok, anything else has been slaughter.

Deep Satisfaction

Ended up third (Vancouver/Reapers), just above the guy who critizised me (who didn't extracted btw). With a lvl 1 Novaguard, plus no mods apart from War Amp V. Ah, and being off-host.

 

I should REALLY buy a mic, so I could laugh at people like them.

PUGs with max manifests, high CPs, and N7 Ranks, discussed a bit if they wanted to kick me off the lobby 'cause I was "too good" in the 2 matches we had.

 

1st Match: Reactor Hazard/Reapers/Platinum:

 

-Played Drell Adept with my Venom II and got first place on scoreboard. The whole team sucked on Wave 1! We all extracted, nonetheless.

 

2nd Match: Hydra/Reapers/Platinum

 

-Played Geth Infiltrator with Talon II and got first place again on the scoreboard. 

 

No offense, PUGs, but I have less than 500 hours and all of my URs are under Level VII.

 

My word to describe my PUGs: JELLY!

I search for a gold game and end up in a lobby where the host had about 230k challenge points. "Geez, that's gotta be the highest I've ever seen", I think to my self, "lets see whats he using".

 

-Slayer vanguard, with the tempest, the predator, targeting VI and a bunch of other really weird stuff.

 

"Humm okay, guess hes trying to gimp himself, alright then, should be fun".    

 

The game starts (collectors, reactor) and at the end of wave 3 I think "this is really easy and where are the sicons and praetorians, wtf's going on??"

 

- Look at the score board, difficulty = bronze....... .      

 

The host then proceed to do everything you would expect someone with that much play time to do on bronze, including nuking the very first praetorian that appeared the second he saw it, not helping with the wave 10 hack and wave 6 escort, and spawn nuking on wave 11.

Bio-boom!

 

Had a sequence of fantastic biotic-squad games last night which ran for about four games of U/U/G with most players sticking around for a couple of games, me and one other guy staying for all before I had to bail. Some games were a little slow but we extracted every time.

 

Although I did have one very helpful dude explain to my AA that he had Reave so I could just throw or warp any of his targets for a biotic detonation. I didn't have my mic on, otherwise I would have politely said that I know all about biotic combos thanks

I was trying to finish one of the achievements, so I played vorcha with a flamer for plenty of games. One of those I ended up hosting and got tired of waiting for other members (stupid football or something...) so I started solo. Later another guy joined and it turned out to be another vorcha with a flamer. Rest of the game went quite smoothly burning various reapers.

I switched to vorcha hunter to finish the achievement with that char, and few games later I suddenly hear in game comm someone saying stuff like vorchavorcha... harr.. hurrr (like vorcha sounds, but to the mic) That continued to the end of game. Not sure if someone realized their mic was on, or maybe it was real-life vorcha trying to communicate.

then I took a drell adept with acolyte (achievements again) (and some weak smg for backup) for a few games. No problems (playing bronze), then comes wave 10 and devices. I rush to the first and rest of the team finds a big room full of various big collectors and spends their time there. I rush to the second, its in open area so I try to clear but acolyte is not the best for that and the smg was weak too. So I get to halfway disarming (or whatever) and abomination comes near and interrupts, That happens several times. Meanwhile 2 of my teammates have managed to die clearing that big room full of angry collectors. 3rd comes to help but gets eaten by praetorian. I get cornered by the same praetorian (with friends now) and waste several medigels before getting the rockets out and blasting it to pieces. After that I was alone and everything was shooting me. The game ended when I ran out of medigel. long time since I have managed to fail in bronze. I guess I need to remember that I might have to solo parts of the game, so a better weapon for a backup is needed
